Four Dragons, Four Directions, & Four Different Ways
Once upon a distant time in a long forgotten place there was to be a meeting to determine the fate of the last luck dragon, a peaceful creature that appeared to be fierce due to his unusual color, size, and fiery breath. A knight had been chosen to destroy the magical beast by a King that wanted the creature’s great fortune and treasure in gold. From every corner of the world despite their differences, four wizards and their magical flying dragons set out to attend this urgent meeting. It was hoped that with their combined magic the dragon could be saved. The princess of the luck dragon’s land had sent for each of them. The Mystical Wizard of the East and his Flying Serpent with the power of clear sight, The Crystal Ice Wizard of the North and his Snow Dragon with the power of healing, The Sun Wizard of the South and his Fire Drake Dragon with the power of spirit, and The Wise Wizard of the West and his Thunder Wind Dragon with the power of storms. 🐉

I Am My Father's Son
I Am My Father s Son In a time and place, where humans were not the only race, a halfling stood on a hill overlooking a field. His waist length hair flowed behind him in the breeze, revealing his pointed ears. He was of a dark complexion, like his father, and his curls made his hair seem like a lion’s mane. My name is James Allan Nathaniel Paul, he thought, such a long name for such a small me. James, it means sup-planter, and I am here to replace my father, the great hero, and follow in his footsteps. My father, the great adventurer bard, that long ago inspired our community to not conform to change. I am nothing compared to him. While he was thinking, his sister’s voice rang out, echoing across the field.

A Letter to My Mother
Dear Mommy, I could confess about sneaking out of the house with that top you told me not to wear on under my t-shirt, because you saw it as tasteless. At least I still followed your rules of decorum with regards to modesty, regardless of my fashion expression choices. I could confess about the time I went out of town to shop, although I was with responsible family friends, and called you, I felt it wasn't an appropriate activity for some reason. I might confess the detention that was not a make up quiz, that I got for bad planning on the departure time from home to elevator to homeroom. Or, I may confess that time I wasn't late with band practice, but out sharing ice cream with the young man with the Cadillac. But, I would rather confess how thankful I am that you are my Mother.

Valentine
Valentine By: LC Harrison The dark room was lit with only a small flame from one candle, sitting in its brass holder on a small desk, pushed up against a window pane, flanked by burgundy curtains, hanging from a brass rod, attached to the wall. A shadowy figure approached the window and picked up the candle. As the figure did so, his face was lit by the eerie glow of the candle’s flame. His skin was pale, and he had long, white hair, that reached past visibility. His eyes were a pale blue, the color of the sky on a clear, sunny day. The figure turned and slowly walked to where I was seated, tied into a velvet upholstered chair. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him use the candle to light an old oil lamp, that sat on a table next to me. After doing so, he blew out the candle. The figure’s long fingers slowly untied me, as he performed this task, his long hair fell forward. It must have reached his waist. He brushed his hair back with his hand to reveal a pointed ear.

The Lost Love of a Vampyre
The Lost Love of a Vampyre It was a dark, foggy night in London, when I first saw her. What day this was, I couldn't say, since time has a way of becoming obsolete in my life. She was the perfect picture of beauty with her hair pulled back from her face, cascading down in curls. Her smile touched a long forgotten vein in my heart. I had to approach her. As I walked up to her, she turned toward me with this odd gaze that seemed to question my very existence. Something about her reminded me of someone I knew long before. With her in front of me, I could discern her dress with the empire waist tied with a long sash to be of red velvet, matching a ribbon in her hair. The red color of her attire was quite a contrast to her complexion, which was distinguished most by her pale skin, pigmented an icy buttermilk, as if one had poured buttermilk into snow. She had eyes and hair the color of deep chestnut. Her gaze intimidated me, but I kept my composure about me.

Freedom is Belief
Freedom is in the belief and trust that anything is divinely possible, and holding onto that in Faith and through Love, while standing true to it brings the freedom into your reality. May such blessings of Peace and freedom become reality to all. All deserve to feel the freedoms that set their spirits in peace and enable joy to dwell in their lives.

A Teacher Was My Mentor
I have had so many amazing mentors in my life, that all helped me to become the person I am today, and I am very grateful to them all. Some were my loving and incredible relatives, caring patient innovative teachers, and even my beautiful first employer. I greatly admire many incredible women, that I have known and have taken inspiration from. I wish I could write of them all, and I dedicate this article to them all.

A Community Dream
I have a dream to create an inclusive community center, a place where all are welcome regardless. It would be focused on faith, where any one could hold a worship meeting safely, freely in a conference area of the center. It would not matter identity, color, or belief, any could visit without judgement as a rule, just don't harm anyone. There would not be judgement, because it would be understood that all are welcome, and those attending would know that, and be expected to respect the others or choose to go somewhere else. Promoting kindness would be a key component in such a place. It would be a beautiful place, where an emphasis on freedoms to worship as we believe could be realised. Where all are universally welcome, and not made to feel as though they are not allowed to belong or attend. Neighborly love here would be met at a true place of acceptance. We do not all have to agree, be identical, or fit a mold in order to believe, love, or accept each other. We are all human together, and that deserves mutual reciprocal respect.

First Urban Adventure with My Sheepdog
I have an urban living sheepdog, border collie, who has cats to herd instead of sheep, and he watches the cats in the upstairs gated corral. He will run from gate to gate looking to see where the cats might be hiding. He diligently watches them all day long. I think the cats are amused at times. Sometimes they will all be asleep on the day bed together at night.

Manifesting Serenity
Serenity is the state of being at peace, relaxed, and calm. The intention realized is a better way to view a goal rather than through the pressuring guise of a disempowering resolution, that somehow isn't reached. With the intent to restore, and add more serenity into my days, I am focused on doing things I love to alleviate stress, and adding varied meditative or mindful actions into my routine. I am setting aside time for journaling, enjoying music, meditation, and dance therapy. I believe obtaining serenity is one of the best ways to bring restfulness and peace into your life.
