There are some things which are possible in this world and there are other things which are literally impossible, then there are the things which are just unbelievable, It's so hard to even imagine them and yet they exist in this reality. One of those things which is so hard to believe is to imagine a random person donating money to a person who is more fortunate than them. You have people out there donating money to millionaires and billionaires, influencers, artists and public figures to make them even more fortunate. I’m not talking here about supporting a vision or buying their products, I’m talking about just donating them money because they like them. I could spin my brain all around but that won’t make sense to me no matter how many times I do. Why on earth will you be donating money to a person who has 10x more money than you? It's something I didn’t understand for a while now but I think I have the answer.

Coming from Africa, I never imagined I could be this obsessed with a person living in a developed country, to the extent I would be willing to spend the already limited resources I have on them. I’m not talking about buying their products or contributing to a project, I’m just talking about donating money to them just because they asked, a little like what Davido did when he openly asked for money from his friends and ended up receiving money from countless strangers out of nowhere who liked him. Why on earth will you send money to Davido out of all people, he is as close to a billionaire as an African could possibly be. No offense to Davido, I love his music and I’m not referring to those from whom he requested money but more about the random people just sending him money unsolicited.

Love comes back around

I think it is the phenomenon whereby when you send out love, it comes back to you, and I think that's what happened in this case. When a person has had the habit of showing love to others and really being there for them in one way or the other, there eventually comes a time when all this love comes back to them and it's just wonderful. There are a lot of people out there working for themselves with a lot of a selfish mind, even though they might be wealthy, you don’t get to hear a lot about them but even the most humble people on the planet who’ve made it a duty to show love to others always receive this love coming back to them in one way or the other. Sometimes it's automatic but other times they have to request for it in one way or the other which might go through donations.

This is the first step towards receiving back all the love you give out, it hinges around your personality, that's why even if you do a lot for people out there, if you have a terrible personality, that love might not come back to you.

The work ethic

Beyond just character, the work ethic of the person and how hard that person works in whatever they are doing, especially in recent times we’ve been able to appreciate a lot of that through social media especially TikTok. There you can really see people put in effort in their craft, whatever that might be, and slowly grow their fan base through their passions. They might not be related to me in any way and what they do might not be of interest to me but I can still be inspired by their hard work and love them through that. It explains why an African from the depths of Africa could be a fan and even invest his resources in a person who grew up in the high class of the United States, through that person's grit and determination he inspired that young African to work hard as well.

That's why I’m inspired by all these artists, actors, businessmen etc. It's not what they do which is the inspiration, but rather how hard they work at it that inspires me.

This also goes back to you as well, people don’t need to love you just for what you do but they can love you even much more for how passionate and hard-working you are at whatever you do. There are many millionaires out there and even billionaires but not all of them are inspirations or being looked up even in a positive light but those who are actively working to make the lives of others better are often highly regarded, so It's not just a question of how much a person has but essentially what they do and how hard they work at that.

Tough times explain it

It comes down to motivation especially in these tough times when things are more competitive and difficult to do, people need inspiration to work hard, people need to be motivated on a regular basis directly or indirectly. When you think about it, there is no reason why a billionaire’s life should be inspiring to you, it's not like you share the same activities but the fact that he shows up at work all day and puts in so much time and effort in what he does, you can relate to that effort and it pushes you as well to try and replicate that. So It's not about you making money or being well off in life, that's not going to build a sustainable fan base or legacy, there are always people who will come do better than you. When you put yourself out there as a hard-working person also willing to reach out to others, then it draws even many more persons closer to you to support your vision or just to outright just help you.

That's why there are CEOs who can request for donations from their fans and others can’t, there are artists who can ask for money from their fans and others can’t, you get the idea! I still don’t think you should be spending money on people who have already more than enough, it would be better off spending on those small businesses and young artists trying to come up instead.
