As a student who has not graduated high school yet, I have observed, both others and myself, a significant decline in reading. It is a pity since reading is a skill that society relies on and the decline in my own reading is concerning and unfortunate. Instant Gratification

We live in an age of instant gratification, where social media and technology provide immediate rewards. Reading, which requires patience and time, often feels less rewarding in comparison. This is especially present among myself and other students who cannot focus on a mere book without getting distracted. After all, why read a book when I can get so much more gratification from scrolling through TikTok or Shorts?
