Anyone's wish

It is anyone’s wishing to have the best. The wish may or may not have been fulfilled. There are many requisites needed to achieve one’s wishes. It may be called ambition, goal, or achievement.

Now, even for a normal life with essential requisites, there are certain preparations or efforts needed. Either for ambition or normal life, if a person gets input or a piece of advice, it should be of immense value.

Despite having such advice and guidance, can a person benefit from it? Why despite having effective advice or guidance certain folks find it difficult or even struggle in normal life?

The reasons are not many. It may be a lack of awareness or egoism.

When a qualified person observes, understands, and judges correctly, it has immense value for the person getting it. But the person who lacks this awareness of the present and future ends up struggling in life at critical situations of life.

It is anyone’s wish to have used that effective and efficient advice from qualified masters and scholars. If a person is open to learning, it works otherwise it may work in the long run leading to lesser benefits. “It is too late” may be the obvious comment, loll.

The person

The case of Jayaganesh(name changed for anonymity) is an example of such a happening. It happened in the past. Now, Jayaganesh who is over 50 years recollects these facts and his ignorance of not utilizing the teaching and advice of such scholars and masters.

The scene

The Scholar Ananda was the chief of a big reputed institution in South India during 2002 in a suburban area on 100 acres of land. During the first time he saw and spoke a little to Jayaganesh, he understood Jayaganesh and his qualities correctly.

Scholar Ananda(name changed for anonymity) did not make eye contact with Jayaganesh then for obvious reasons but he continued to talk and ask about certain topics relevant to work in that institution. He spoke moderately and slowly, he walked slowly. He was a man in the fifties, well built, spectacled, and wearing the uniform of the institution.

He spoke friendly. He was following realism and the oneness of existence in his life pursuit. He had such a generosity to ask Jayaganesh to go and work in the office among experienced staff initially, even without prior experience in those departments.

Then he said,” Initially look after certain maintenance works”. Jayaganesh obliged and worked enthusiastically for few weeks.

The invaluable advice by the scholar

During those few weeks, the Scholar Ananda told once” You are neither this way nor that way”. “Fifty, sixty only people think about this”. He was reminding Jayaganesh or advising him about the future. Since it was voluntary work, from where will the money come for the future to take care of oneself? Jayaganesh did not think about it then when he was 35 years old.

The saving habit is emphasized and analyzed by the financial experts, let us see how Sai Deep explains it, “There might be many reasons/excuses which make it impossible to save money. But, if you take the time to identify your difficulties in saving money and figure out how to conquer all those obstacles, and start saving money, you will become financially stable and achieve your goals early. It's never too late to begin investing. Hence one must develop habits of saving and build a strategy or a budget to save your money and watch your money working for you.” Sai Deep (Reasons why….) blog. finology .in

The second invaluable piece of advice

The scholar also advised Jayaganesh to “don’t do much on anything” observing the tendency of Jayaganesh who overdo in excess to what is needed.

If we come across in our daily lives, anything done in excess leads to complications. One may argue “Good things can be done more” it may sound good but even Bhagavad Gita advises “Atisneha (excess affection) should not be there”. The consequences are found in those families or institutions where excess in personal or professional lives leads to complications.

“Plenty of us create a to-do list to address feelings of being overwhelmed, but we rarely use these tools to their best effect. They wind up being guilt-provoking reminders of the fact that we're overcommitted and losing control of our priorities.” Kat McGowan, (Is the to-do list….) Psychology Today magazine

The lesson

Now a day, Jayaganesh reminds himself of such great advice he got about 20 years back. This advice was given by scholar Ananda, had it been followed by Jayaganesh, would have prevented many adversities, problems, and confusions in various pursuits whether in the family, profession, or interpersonal communication with anyone.

The excess in anything may be due to inner pressure or psychological issues.

It is clear that the lack of alertness and egoism then prevented Jayaganesh from benefitting from the invaluable advice.

So let anyone willing to learn, be alert or aware to listen to, to benefit from the advice or opinion of qualified and trustworthy persons in our lives.
