Today Is The Day

If Not Now, Then When?

Today is the day...it might as well be.

We only get so many chances and opportunities to chase our dreams and passions so why not make today that day? If you wait long enough you might just let the opportunity itself pass you by forever. You see, we're human so we don't like to ever look at things that way. We think that we are going to live forever and that things are never going to end, doors will never close, and those big opportunities will always be there. News flash, we don't live forever, things do end, doors close and big opportunities don't come around every day. If this is breaking news to you I'm sorry but you should probably crawl out from under the rock you live under and experience the world for a day. You'll learn a lot.

First off, life wouldn't be as special if we lived forever. If we were always guaranteed tomorrow than what would be the point of chasing your dreams today? Exactly. There wouldn't be. We're all on the clock and the kicker is that we don't know when that clock is going to hit zero. It could be in fifty years or it could be in fifty days. We just don't know. That's why it's important to not delay and just do what you love and follow your passions.

Why spend life being miserable in unnecessary and meaningless ways? To me, there's a big difference between being miserable in a good way and miserable in a bad way. Miserable in a good way is intentionally putting yourself through events and situations that make you uncomfortable and force you to grow as a person and learn something about yourself. Miserable in a bad way is wasting your life in a cubicle and hating every second of it. Don't get me wrong some people like life inside the cube and I'm not trying to bash on you working hard and trying to make a great living. What I am bashing on is the people who do it and stay in it because they think they have to or they're too scared to take the leap and follow their real dreams.

Most people spend their whole life like Mr. Incredible at the beginning of the movie where he's sitting at his desk, obviously out of place. They spend their entire lives dreaming of what they really want to do but never do it. That, to me, is sad and depressing. They never get out like Mr. Incredible and be the superhero and save the day. Be the superhero in your own life. Joe Rogan talks about this all the time. He tells people to imagine that they're the superhero who just hit rock bottom. Who is washed up and ready to quit. Then, they do what all superheroes do and they get inspired and they go back and save the day.

Be that guy or girl. Don't be the person who wastes their whole life wishing they were or wishing they could be. Because one day you're going to wake up and it's all going to be gone. Decide today to be the superhero in the movie of your life and go after your dreams. The longer you delay, the harder it gets to start. If you keep telling yourself you'll do it tomorrow then eventually you'll look back in shock as weeks, months and years start to fly by. Regret is not a pleasant feeling. Especially when we only get one chance at this thing.

Make today be THE DAY. And don't look back!

Get After It.
