The Joy Of Sharing
The Benefits Of Sharing Vocal Stories of Facebook and Vocal Friends In The Facebook Vocal Groups and Elsewhere With A Bit on The Benefits of Vocal Tipping
Sharing Your Facebook Friend's Vocal Stories
Yesterday I got a Facebook notification that my name had been mentioned, so I went to check up on it and was shocked in the most beautiful way by what was said about me as Lena Beana shared one of my stories. It was one of my fiction stories that you can read here:
This is what Lena had to say.
Recently I seem to be getting a lot of public compliments and people sharing my work which is beneficial for me in a financial way but also very beneficial to my spirit and feelings inside. Sarah Covey also shared a recent piece here
This is what Sarah had to say
These two really affected me in a good way and I am very thankful for what they have done for me.
I know that a lot of people do rate my work highly but I seldom see it in public. Maybe I don't look hard enough, but when I do see it, it gives me a huge lift.
The Vocal Top Story Scenario
Recently Caroline Jane remarked on my “millions of Top Stories” which made me realise that because I post a lot people just assume I must be very successful on Vocal. Again this gave me something to write about and you can read that piece here about this whole situation.
If you follow these through you will realize that I am extremely happy with the recognition, encouragement, and love that I get from all my Facebook Vocal friends.
The Point
And this comes to the point of this post, is that I do share other people’s posts and comment on them and they hopefully get the same feeling as me. They get the benefits that I do which is a nice extra.
There are some people who expect to be promoted, expect to be praised but this is not about that sort of person.
We want to be a community that wants the best for each other. We should all help build each other's success. We really are a team, and the initial comments that I have shared show me that I am part of the Vocal Facebook Writing (or Creating) community. I want everyone to feel that.
Comments and Interaction
The comments I got above are in addition to continual love and praise I get from Babs Iverson and others on an almost daily basis from other Vocal Facebook friends and part of me is now thinking “Who have I missed?” then I think of Melissa Ingoldsby and Bill O’Neal and there will still be others, but even if I have not mentioned you, you know I respect and love you.
This comes back to the joy we get when others share our stories. I don’t know if Lena had looked at my profile or used my directory (at the end of this) to find my fiction because out of my 425 stories before this one only 20 or so are Fiction.
I know there are people who tell others about me as well, and this is a great thing although you may not necessarily see the direct benefit. For instance person A tells person B directly or in a group that one of your stories is good and person B then goes and reads and likes one of your stories and they may spread the word too.
Vocal Tipping
Although it’s probably not a great financial thing most of the time, whenever I see a dollar tip it makes my heart leap. Recently Linda Rivenbark, Judey Kalchik and Zel Harrison have tipped me for poems that I wrote, but the most important tip I ever received was the first one I ever got which was from Call Me Les (and you have to find out what she chose that name by reading this ) in July last year for the story below.
That told me that people enjoyed my writing and when she gave me another a week later that gave me an enormous confidence boost. It showed she had read and enjoyed my creations and was the start of a wonderful Vocal and Facebook friendship.
I will finish with my directory that you can dip into and find what I am about, and maybe you will find something of mine you like enough to share with your fiends
