I think that our inner beliefs in the unknown, what we are willing to risk emotionally and energetically and what we have been shown as pattens from the outside ( external world) will be a consequence of our actions guides our steps as who we are in the world.

I think the folks with the highest faith in there own ability to navigate the hiccups of life have a better outlook on confidence and their own trust that they will get that necessary positive reinforcement in natural and affirming ways. A good example of this is creating a grounded community around you in the hobbies or sports world. Endure in that one arena so that you can learn to be vulnerable, trust, and be seen and uplifted for who you are... the strengths and your areas of growth can be easily nurtured. Being in that safe, unfiltered, loving, longer lasting community can significantly increase your outlook on life, health, and teachings in our inner selves of who we are and all that we can be without the position of criticism.

Faith to me is an abundance of trust in someone, something, or if we have been modeled this ourselves. What do you have an abundance of faith in? Your car that it will get you to work in the morning? Your dog that it will greet you as you walk into your house after a long day? Or do you trust in your own decisions? Do you believe that you have a sound mind to be in the drivers seat of your own life? I think that faith is going to those areas where we did not necessarily have the most healthy or affirming feedback put inside of us. I say “put” because we are a product of the repetition of what we see and not who we were inherently born as. We are all worthy of full, safe, abundant, healthy lives! I think that the key if have the confidence that we really only have the limits that we choose to believe.

One issue that I believe gets in the way of having confidence is the belief that you are all by yourself. When we realize that give or take we are faced with a similar “pool” of negative or positive emotions and circumstances as those around it we become normalized. One issue that I had was knowing that I was just as worthy as anyone else to live in this world with pride, and the capability to make myself heard. That is not just a privilege for one type of person. I realize now that confidence is not something that other people can give you it’s something that you choose. I learned that if no one shows you how to be embodied in confidence that you can grow into it without judgement.

A great way to start is to be consistent in your passion or talent. It takes years for success stories to manifest ( if even actualized on a massive platform). I think about comedians such as Tiffany Haddish. In an interview with fellow black American comedian Lil Rel Howery they speak about living in a one room apartment in 2006 dreaming of successful careers. Now in 2021 they are both stars ( Lil Rel in movies such as Jordan Peeles Get Out), and Tiffany Haddish recently got awarded a Grammy in Comedy ( the first for a black woman since the legendary Whoopi Goldberg in 1986) Faith is believing what you do not see. It is the ultimate trust when you forge a path that no one has before in your family or community. Every one of you deserves to have your passions nurtured.

After we get our basic needs met ( sleep, eating food, a safe home, a trusted community, love, purpose) I think the next area of upmost importance is developing faith in ourselves and any capability that we wish to succeed.

You can do it!
