The Bread No One Wanted-Except Me
A story about food, familyand finding purpose in unexpected place.

How do you feel when bread is always on your shipping list ,but everyone ignores it. I'm the only one giving protocol to it by using it in various Healthy ways
I was buy healthy food items. I even scan the ingredients and if don't understand something, I turned my mobile data on and start searching about it. If I have single doubt, I am not going to buy it. For me, my family is precious and obviously their health is vital to me.
I noticed over the last few weeks that the healthy bread has started crying. Not loudly of course we all know that bread odesn't scream. It cries softly, the kind of sadness only someone like me would notice.
One morning, I picked it up gently .I turned the packet around and looked at the expiry date
"Oh no... still two days left. Why ar you upset?" I murmured.
The bread didn't answer, but I felt its disappointment.
I took a deep breath and whispered,"Don't worry I will make you happy,"
By evening I had a plan.
"How about sandwiched for dinner? I asked my family , trying to sound casual.
Their reaction was instant and dramatic.
"Sandwiches for dinner?"
The protest echo through the kitchen.
"So what? why can't we have sandwiched?" I protested back, but sadly, I lost the vote. Democracy in my house is very selective.
That night I made a quiet commitment to myself.
Don't ask them. The kitchen is yours. You are the boss
If they didn't want sandwiches, fine. But I wasn't going to let my poor bread suffer in silence. I was determined to give it importance, respect and a delicious purpose.
The next day, I stood in my kitchen like a scientist preparing for an experiment. I knew my family hardly liked vegetables, so I had to be very clever. I opened the freezer, grabbed a bag of mixed vegetables, and cooked them with potatoes and spices until everything was soft, fragrant, and completely dry. The smell filled the kitchen..warm, comforting, hopeful.
Once the mixture cooled, I turned to the bread. I held each slice gently,as if comforting a friend who had been ignored too long. Then I tore the slices into small pieces and added them to the vegetable mixture. With a hand masher, I blended everything together until it became a soft, smooth dough. I added few drops of lemon, some mint and fresh coriander leaves. Suddenly the mixture came alive colourful, aromatic, full of potential.
I shaped the mixture into small kababs, neat and round and placed them in the freezer. They looked proud, like little soldiers ready for duty.
Now when ever I make rice and daal, I simply take out few kababs and cook them. Meal suddenly looks richer, fuller, almost like a mini feast. My family enjoys the meal without realizing that they are eating vegetables and bread. I watched them quietly ,hiding a small smile. If only they knew secret hero behind the scenes.
The bread that once cried in the corner of my cupboard now has a proud purpose. No more sadness. No more feeling ignored. She was transformed into somethin deliciuos, some thing useful, some thing that brings harmony to the different meals table.
Sometimes I think about how small things in the kitchen teaches us a big lessons. Even a slice of bread wants to feel valued.Even a simple ingredients want a chance to shine. And maybe just maybe we all feel a little like that sometimes..... waiting for someone to notice our worth.
But in my kitchen nothing goes unnoticed. Here every things gets love. Every thing gets attention. And every thing, absolutely gets used with purpose.
