Fat-Biking in the wintertime
Fall time temperatures arise and the overwhelming feeling of the season change comes in about November in Michigan. The mornings are crisp and the days are getting shorter. I found myself missing the thought of jumping on the bike and hitting the trails. I ride a full suspension bike mostly in the warm months and place it in storage in the garage for the long wintery season. All spring summer and fall I was riding consistent on the trails, nothing to fancy but would get in my daily rides and feel somewhat healthy after a long grueling day in the office. Ive felt like mountain biking was my calling, I would rarely miss a opportunity to ride at the local park, One of the best parts about riding was the freedom and setting a goal formyself to live a healthy lifestyle. At 46 I was not as interesteed in going to the gym and doing robotic exercises. My calling was getting out into the woods and meetings some other riders. My perspective changed the day I met a few riders on FatBikes. I had no idea what they were and at first glance I thought they were just "goofy" looking. I came to a resting point and there was a fatbiker at the same crossroads I was at. During our water break I was asking all sorts of questions about his bike and what it was used for. My mind was blown, and I knew I wanted to be joining the thousands of people that ride these fat bikes thought the snow, mud and sand all season long.

Kristen's ending of the #200 Challenge rendered me speechless. The impact was not immediate, I'll admit. The feeling her 'vocal bliss' piece illustrated was emitted while laughing in the shower that dark and gloomy (turned blue and bountiful) morning.

If you feel directionless and lost, read this. The synchronicity at which success and failure hit us is believed to be the rhythmic flair of life. Striving to be the best we can ever be, our tireless endeavours plunge us into the uncertain waters that challenge us and propel us to move forward. But as we stride on this journey, there are often when we lose our sense of belief that we hold, the virtue of our strength often loses itself in the dreary desert of dejection and hopelessness, when life takes an unexpected turn, the one that was not anticipated. While it is true that everything that is meant for us will find us in due course of time, the anticipation and expectation of working towards something and not having it always simmers the hope we hold for ourselves.

Aristotle's life was a series of highs and lows, a rollercoaster of emotions that mirrored his fluctuating sense of self-worth. This is especially true during a person’s younger years when life experience is often in short supply. Not surprisingly, during his formative years, Aristotle grappled with loving himself, being indifferent, and sometimes not liking himself. Such rollercoaster emotions were often tied to his perceived successes and failures, which unfortunately fluctuated more than the weather from one day to the next!
