Ever since I started my writing path with Vocal, I found that organizing and keeping track of my many types of poetry, novels and short stories was a huge awakening to me. I am, by nature, a highly disorganized person. Vocal was truly my first milestone in keeping track of my writing in a way that felt more professional and personal. As I grew in my craft, I decided to use many of the stories I started on Vocal to be put on the table to be published traditionally. This venture served up quite a quandary as I found that many of these so-called publishers were vanity presses or hybrid.

Sadio Mané, champion of solidarity for Africa
Sadio Mané is one of the most famous players in the world. Star of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, he is now working for Bayern Munich. An inconspicuous player on the pitch, or at least not as much as other more celebrated great champions, but extremely important for the offensive maneuver of the teams he was part of. There is another reason why he is famous: Sadio Mané is in fact a champion of solidarity. Who is Sadio Mane? Born in Bambali, Senegal, Mané grew up in extreme poverty. He lost his father when he was just 7 years old and managed to find a way out in football to be able to help his mother. At 15 he took a trip to the capital Dakar, in the hope that someone would see his precocious talent. It wasn't long before French Ligue club Metz noticed his natural ability and offered him a move to Europe that would mark the start of his career. Sadio Mané is an extraordinary footballer. He is the symbol of a country that wins the African Cup for the first time in its history, in 2022, and for many years part of Liverpool's attacking trio, together with Salah and Firmino. Sadio Mané champion of solidarity Sadio Mané does not forget his country of origin. The Bayern Munich striker has always been one of the most active in the field of charity, actively working to help Bambali, the city where he was born, grow. In fact, he decided to donate 500 thousand euros for a hospital that should help 34 villages near Bambali, who will thus be able to access the health service. In Senegal, as in most of West Africa, people survive with enormous difficulty. The average salary is 150 dollars a month and many do not even have this amount due to high unemployment. Many work in agriculture. Mané then decided to "invest" in Senegal by redistributing part of his wealth. He has built schools, a stadium, provides clothes, shoes, food for people in extreme poverty. Every month he makes a contribution to organizations fighting malaria. He ensured that the entire area was equipped with a 4G internet connection, so that school students could be equipped with laptops. And now, thanks to his contribution, a service station and a post office are also being built. He also provides scholarships to the most deserving students. He pays each family an income of 70 euros per month, a sort of citizen's income which is not a tip or even a form of alms but real, sincere help for those who have difficulty making ends meet. How to follow Mané's example As we have seen, Sadio Mané contributes greatly to the growth of a small piece of Africa, thanks to huge donations. Of course, his annual salary (counting only the one paid to him by Bayern Munich) comes to around 20 million euros. His commitment is certainly commendable but seems very difficult to imitate, given the incredible amount of money he earns every day. However, there is a way to follow his example, respecting one's own possibilities, but still helping one or more children in a very poor context in Africa, thus indirectly helping the entire community in which they live: adopting a child distance. Adopting a child remotely with Alice for Children costs 1 euro per day. A figure that is certainly more affordable, but which guarantees a child from the slums of Nairobi, one of the poorest places in the world, to go to school, receive food and medical care and be able to have a future despite the poverty into which he was born. In fact, in the shantytowns, millions of people live in shacks of just a few square metres, without running water or electricity. Many children are forced to work in the Dandora landfill, collecting waste with their bare hands for a few cents a day. However, long-distance adoption changes their lives completely, takes them to school and allows them to live a normal childhood.
