Born in a farmer's family, Sneh Rana carried the farmer's legacy and decided to "feed" the world of Women's cricket with her sheer determination and of course her courageous smile. She was born on 18th February 1994 on the outskirts of Dehradun. Like every other women cricketer, she played gully cricket with boys in her childhood days.

In an interview with female cricket Sneh opened up on how it was her sister who took her talent seriously and forced her to join the cricket academy. She was always serious about cricket, so much so that for proper training she decided to move to Amritsar. Her family is her backbone, her parents supported her with everything they could and stood alongside her.

Her dream to play for India finally got accomplished when she debuted against Sri Lanka in 2014 but her first major performance came in 2015 when India successfully defended 142 runs in the ODI match against New Zealand in Bangalore where she picked 3 wickets at an economy of 2.88. During that time she was turning out to be in for a long run, but an unfortunate knee injury in 2016 forced her way out of the team for the next 5 years.

Sneh has always been a fighter. She remained a consistent performer in the domestic seasons. Railways trusted her with leadership role whenever Mithali Raj was away for national duties and she paid back by leading them to consistent title wins. She picked 18 wickets in 8 matches and scored 160 runs at an average of 40 in the Senior Women's ODI Trophy in March 2021 and this reopened her door to the Indian squad.

She was recalled to play for India in the tour to England in June 2021, just a few weeks after her father's demise. The tour started with her test debut, where this fighter, fought for India and saved the test match, by taking 4 wickets and scoring 80 runs during the follow-on inning.

Rana played a major role in the match where India broke the Aussies's 26-match winning streak, she cleanly bowled the ever-consistent Beth Mooney and also showed her ability with the bat yet again after scoring an intent full 30 runs off 27.

She was selected for the ODI World Cup 2022 squad, where just in her first match she was asked to bat in a tricky situation of 114-6 against the arch-rivals Pakistan and she scored 53 runs in 48 balls plus took 2 wickets in an economy of just 3. She and Vastrakar shared a record 7th wicket partnership of 122 runs. It was a decent World Cup debut for her as she ended her campaign with an impressive 10 wickets in 7 matches.

uch was her impact that it began to be a norm, "Need a wicket? Call Sneh Rana". Because of her wicket-taking abilities at crucial juncture, she was getting recognized as a "partnership breaker".

In India's narrow win of 4 runs in the semi-final of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, the hosts England were cruising at one point but she took the timely wicket of set batter Danni Wyatt, was also involved in run outs of Jones and Capsey and last but definitely not the least she successfully defended 14 runs in 6 balls.

There have been ups and downs throughout her career, but this girl never stopped.

Surprisingly she could not make it to the first 15 of T20WC 2023 squas and was put in the reserves. But with Pooja Vastrakar's illness just prior to an all-important semi-final against the defending champions Australia, Indian management took no time to call her directly into the playing 11, this shows how much she brings to the table.

She was picked up by the Gujarat Giants for the inaugural WPL season and with Beth Mooney's unfortunate injury, the management trusted her with captaincy.

As of April 2023, she was retained in the BCCI's annual contract list.

Leadership, bowling, batting, fielding, is there anything this girl cannot do? Probably no.

From the start of her cricketing career till now, Sneh Rana has proved that every setback is perfect platform for a comeback and comebacks are always sweeter.
