Move over

One, two, three, TikTok action! “Let’s go back K & B” he sings. She starts to sing in the mic, “what they wa say’” she is pulling a string while he moves his body to the rhythm of the music. I could sit down all day and watch this short chip by “Justmaiko Bee and Me” The lyric makes no sense, but who wants something that makes sense today. It lets me know there is a virus in my head and not a brain. While watching the short TikTok, I chuckled to myself, as my mind-controlled by the rhythmic sound of the music and movements of the bodies understanding the method. It is called entertainment for the young. Initially, I am bliss with the short videos. Should I adventure in doing a TikTok video? It's not farfetched. It would be most rewarding to bring a smile on someone face for what is happening worldwide. As they detach themselves from the environment, they have become so clustered in today's pandemic. It is what people want to see right now.

My girlfriend and I hitting this song.

At the same time, there is a young man who finishes high school. He made this TikTok for his mother. I think this should have gotten more exposure. He is sitting there with full eyes, and no words are coming from his mouth. Everything around him speaks volumes. Some texts printed above his head, "This is what you always wanted." Could he remember when he was learning to hold his pencil and learning to spell his name?" There were so many precious memories to step on that stage.

There will be no crowd cheering him on while he and his friends share their last moments of being a class, seeing their teachers face maybe the last time. There will be no SAT, or letter coming from the college asking him to visit the college, nor walking onto the stage with the announcer would thunderously bawl his name over the mic as his parents cheer him on, or a camera with his dad taking photos of him receiving his high school diploma, with his mom dropping a tear or two, to see him receiving his awards. The chapter of his story is missing a part. But, there is another part that will fill that area.

Another important point I would like to express is another graduate from college, a young lady. She walks through a beige wooden door with the sign "close." on the large glass window. "What are her plans after walking through that glass door?" Her dreams are just starting as a young man who has finished high school. When she walked through the glass door, it appears to be a run-down old restaurant. I wondered, "Where is she going?"

Graduation Day

They both shared ideas of what life was going to be. Their goals had nothing to do with Covid19 as the world hibernates itself from the virus. I am sure she was thinking about her career taking off. Buying a new car or getting her apartment.

Everything has become a standstill. Someone has pressed pause on the video. I think both should have gotten more likes and views on TikTok.

At least one good thing has come out of all this madness, and it is, I have new vocabulary words that I would use just about every day, they are quarantine, chill, social distancing, flatten the curve, isolation, respirator, ventilators, asymptomatic, immunity, and the biggest of them all pandemic. Those fifteen seconds of TikTok provide me with the necessary engagement to accomplish a moment of being vulnerable; it facilitates a period of happiness.

Undeniably, this TikTok video speaks for itself. Somethings, one should be silent. It has been quoted, “A picture speaks a thousand words.”

Look at me dancing in front of my dog.
