Mindscapes

In a small town nestled between rolling hills and lush greenery, there lived a man named Izmir. Izmir was an ordinary man with extraordinary dreams. He believed in the power of manifestation, a concept that had been passed down through generations in his family.

Even without doing any activity, Izmir knew he could still manifest what he wanted if he organized four dimensions in one direction and kept it unwavering for a certain period of time. His belief was deeply rooted in the understanding that human beings are capable of creating their own realities.

Izmir's favorite spot in town was a serene park surrounded by ancient trees. One day, as he took a leisurely walk, he stumbled upon a mysterious tree known as the Kalpavriksha, or the wishing tree. The legend said that this tree had the power to fulfill any wish.

Feeling fortunate, Izmir decided to test the powers of the tree. He wished for a comfortable place to rest, and to his surprise, a perfect spot appeared under the tree. Energized by this experience, he wished for a feast, and delicious food materialized before him. Amazed by the tree's abilities, he wished for a variety of drinks, and they appeared as if by magic.

However, with a bit of alcohol in him, Izmir's mind, like the unestablished mind referred to as a monkey in yogic lore, became active. Suspicion crept in, and he wished for ghosts, expecting them to surround and torture him. Much to his dismay, the ghosts manifested, and his peaceful paradise turned into a nightmare. Panicking, he wished for the torture to end, but instead, he met an untimely demise.

The tale of Izmir serves as a powerful metaphor. The Kalpavriksha represents the human mind, capable of manifesting desires. However, the uncontrolled mind, like a monkey, can lead to chaos. Izmir's lack of understanding and control over his thoughts brought about his own downfall.

This story underscores a fundamental truth – the mind is a powerful tool that can shape our reality. If we want to create a harmonious and fulfilling life, it's crucial to learn to control and organize our minds. Just as the Kalpavriksha can fulfill any wish, a well-established mind, referred to as a Kalpavriksha, can organize the whole system of the body, mind, emotions, and energy in one direction.

Izmir's story also delves into the concept of faith. Faith, in its purest form, involves a childlike belief without questioning. When Izmir approached the wishing tree with simple faith, his wishes were granted. This faith, unclouded by doubt, played a crucial role in the manifestation of his desires.

However, the narrative takes a turn to emphasize that God or the source of creation will not intervene directly. The onus is on individuals to strive for what they want. The storyteller cautions against relying on external forces to build one's house. Instead, the focus should be on organizing the mind and other dimensions to become a creator.

The essence of the story lies in the power of focused and organized thought. The narrator implores listeners to understand that creating the right things in the mind is the foundation of shaping the external world. It's a call to action, urging individuals to take charge of their thoughts, emotions, and energies.

The storyteller introduces the concept of the four dimensions – physical body, mind, emotion, and fundamental life energies – and highlights the importance of organizing them in one direction. A well-organized mind, in a state of samyukti, becomes a Kalpavriksha, capable of manifesting anything one desires.

The tale of Izmir's misadventure with the wishing tree serves as a cautionary tale about the need for a disciplined and controlled mind. It's a reminder that the mind, if left unattended, can lead to unintended consequences. The story encourages listeners to embark on the journey of self-discovery, striving to become creators of their own destinies.

As the narrative unfolds, the storyteller emphasizes the need to commit oneself to creating a peaceful, joyful, and loving world. This commitment, when undertaken with a clear understanding of what one truly wants, becomes a guiding force for organizing the mind and other dimensions.

The storyteller challenges the listener to question the limitations imposed by past experiences. What has not happened till now on this planet can happen tomorrow, and human beings are capable of making it happen. The distinction between what is possible and not possible is deemed as nature's business, while the individual's responsibility lies in striving for what they truly want.

The story concludes with a profound wish and blessing from the narrator – that every human being should have access to the source of creation within themselves. It's an invitation to explore the tools and technologies of yoga, described as the science of transforming from a mere piece of creation to a creator.

In the end, the motivational story of Izmir and the Kalpavriksha leaves the audience with a powerful message – the power to shape one's destiny lies within, waiting to be unlocked through the organization of the mind and the unwavering commitment to creating a better world for oneself and others.
