Ah, healing. An ever-evolving journey of self-discovery and the pursuit of peace. Not only does healing help you discover yourself, but healing can help you discover more about your own belief systems.

My healing journey has led me to discover so much more about my own belief systems. I was baptized Catholic as a baby, and now at 27 years old, I fully embrace spirituality and all of its elements. However, I still have a relationship with God. How did I end up here?

Unveiling the Shackles: Escaping the Box

There are many contradictions within the established religious beliefs that I grew up with. For example, some parts of the bible say that you can earn God's forgiveness through love and faith alone, while other parts say that you must work for it. What's the truth? Both of these opposing perspectives are represented in the same religious text.

The religion that I was raised in teaches us that everyone is loved by God, but many people (like homosexuals and even people who have sex before marriage) are cast out by people who identify as the same religion. What's the truth? Which people are good and which people are bad?

I remember consistently feeling confined by traditional religious beliefs as I was growing up, feeling like I had to act a certain way because God was watching, and even assuming certain things about other people because of what I had been taught.

Breaking free from the limitations of organized religion can be thrilling, purely just because you're freeing yourself from limitations. Once I grew up and realized that God was more forgiving than I had initially thought, I felt free to explore different aspects of my belief system, like spirituality.

Into the Realm of Magic: Tarot, Manifestation, and Energy Healing

In my early twenties, I got into spirituality heavily and got involved with tarot, manifestation, energy healing, and light magic. I had always avoided these things when I was growing up because I was taught that they were bad, but I loved all of it. I had always had an interest in spirituality, and I expressed that mostly through my interest in astrology and tarot, which is portrayed negatively in the bible.

I was in awe of the way that spirituality seemed to connect with me, like I had been missing it all this time. I wouldn't have started my healing journey if it wasn't for spirituality, because it helped me gain more awareness of myself and the world around me. All of my best ideas were spiritual.

The Cosmic Conundrum: God and the Universe

The relationship between God and the universe is perplexing. Did God create the universe? Does one exist over the other? Do they both exist simultaneously? How does it all work?

It's all very confusing, but I think that spirituality and religion are one in the same, so maybe God and the universe are more connected than we think. And I also think that all of this is so very personal, and that your beliefs should always resonate with YOU and you alone.

I found personal harmony by embracing aspects of both traditional religion and spirituality, combining the two instead of separating them. But again, these are my personal beliefs.

The Art of Belief Alchemy: Blending Personal Truths

You can practice belief alchemy by personally choosing what YOU want to believe in. Don't be afraid to mix and match beliefs from various sources. I believe that faith is personal, and that you CAN do things like that with it. Crafting your own belief system can be a creative and fun process that involves your imagination.

You can easily integrate spirituality into your daily life by:

  • Saying a prayer in the morning after waking up or before going to sleep.
  • Spending more time outside and appreciating all that nature has to offer and this beautiful world that was created for us.
  • Spending more time being grateful for what you have and appreciating the small things.

When you broaden your belief system, little signs and affirmations of your beliefs will start to show up everywhere. Now that I have an established belief system, I can ask God for signs that everything is okay when I feel anxious, and I do receive those signs. And it's so simple. One time I was worried about if my dog was eating enough, and then I watched as she went over to eat. That was a sign to me that she was okay, which she was.

If you can find ways to infuse spirituality into the mundane, I encourage you to do it! It can be a fun way to gain a new perspective on things that we do every day.

Evolving with the Cosmic Tides: Growth and Flexibility

Remember that personal beliefs are constantly changing and you will need to re-evaluate what you believe in numerous times throughout your life if you want to stay aware. It's important to be adaptable and make your healing journey YOURS. Your belief system should be something that makes you feel empowered and enlightened, regardless of how it makes anyone else feel.

Try to be open to new perspectives and continuously expand your mystical horizons, even if you never have before. It's not too late to start.

The journey of crafting your own belief system can be fun and interesting. Your journey doesn't have to be like everybody else's.

Start analyzing your beliefs and finding out what you believe to be true. That way, you can start embracing your own unique mystical path. Remember that the best belief system is the one that makes you feel empowered, free, and brings a bit of sparkle into your life.
