When we look at the structure of hiring and retaining employees in some of the largest organizations in the world, there are multiple challenges that are faced by both the employees and the employers as well. At the same time, the process of hiring is tough and hard to keep up with the change in digital transformation and the presence of artificial intelligence.

It has also been noticed that retention of those employees becomes even tougher. Not only because of serious competition in the market. But also because of constant comparison and higher expectations of the employees.

So where to find the balance where you are not only being able to hire the best and upskilled professionals in the business and also able to retain them for a longer period of time? The question remains simple but effective.

Talking about most of the design thinking for leaders, there are multiple approaches that are adopted by employers and leaders of modern times to ensure that they design thinking in a manner that helps better employee retention.

1. The employee experience matters:

All those business owners who are working hard to build the reputation of their organization also work for the well-being and betterment of their employees. According to research and surveys, we could make sure that when you are taking design thinking skills into your approach, you are able to yield better results and even profitable business returns.

Therefore, it would be safe to say that employee retention or happier workplaces and not only more productive but they are more profitable as well.

2. Design thinking for your employees:

When you look forward to designing the skills and the thinking of your employees, it should be given equal importance as you shape and design the thinking and skills of your customers. Moreover, you also need to provide with the platform to help them design and thinking with examples.

Well! It has been observed that most businesses are driven by a customer retention approach where they go far and wide to any length to be able to retain their customers. And little or no work has been done to retain their employees.

However, when the required goal is to bring a better and positive perspective to the employees, one should think about design thinking with examples that enable you to yield profitable results.

3. Design thinking workshops:

One of the most commonly made mistakes by most employers and leaders of modern times is that they think that they are aware of what are the needs and requirements of their employees. Thus, they are at fault for providing the right kind of assistance that they have been looking for.

Instead of thinking and assuming what your clients are looking for, it is better to conduct design workshops where you could ask them about what changes they expect and what steps could be taken to improve their work experience point.

This may seem to be a daunting task, but if you think that as a leader, you aren't equipped enough to conduct those workshops, then you might think about taking the assistance of the professionals who could help you take the feedback and work with you on the workshop results.

4. Talking to the extreme users:

When you are working on designing thinking for the leaders and the employees and the basic aim is to have insight into their experience, one of the very first things that you need to understand is that there are resources that could help make the analysis and then only work on the grey areas where the organization has been lacking.

Those who have been part of the business for years or those who have just joined the team may provide you with two very distinct but very realistic views of the organization. All you need to do is to identify the extreme users and then ask them about their experiences.

The two distinct onions help you create a flow chart of the events that are meeting their expectations or creating hurdles for their success accordingly.

5. Map the journey of the employees:

Being part of an organization is all about forming pathways and taking the journey to an unknown destination. For most of employees, it is a routine where they open the computer, work for hours and leave for home without any goals setting and objectives on their minds.

On the other hand, there are those who are determined to work for your organization and could provide better results only if you help them set those goals and follow their path with the mapping on the paper.

These are some of the points that need to be remembered when you are working on the retention of your employees or looking forward to seeking help from professionals.
