Being smart is a choice that you make, it’s a lifestyle you chose to follow. There are ways that can turn you into a smart person. Just try to follow these rules and you will see results in no time.

I am not going to tell to go read about dark matter and string theory or go summarize Aristotle’s writings. No! It’s way simpler than that.

1. Find Your Happiness in Solitude

By Keegan Houser on Unsplash

I am not talking about abandoning people. What I mean by solitude is have some alone time to reflect on why are alive what is your goal and just imagine how you would it.

Giving yourself some alone time everyday isn’t just about being smarter, it also helps with self-awareness and confidence.

When you tell yourself that happiness is in that one hour late at night, away from everything and everyone you will notice that life will become easier.

2. Use Your Senses

Feel your surroundings with every sense you have. Anything you can look at and hear, at the same time? Open your eyes wide and listen carefully. Don’t stress yourself with overthinking it, just focus on what’s being said and seen.

Always remember that your mind built itself based on surroundings. When you master how to use your senses to the fullest, you will find yourself in a much better place regarding awareness and confidence.

3. Always Think with Arrogance

I know, arrogance is definitely bad. But the point here is to think arrogantly not to act based on it.

How does that help? Well, do you know when somebody is just too irritating and too annoying for you to handle, you just can’t believe this person? Right? The prefect solution is to feel sorry for them, and act with kindness. You are telling yourself this person is just a victim of bad education or something went wrong with their life. That might not be true, but it helps you to keep moving with confidence and with steady steps.

4. Smile

Smiling is amazing! It boosts the energy of your mind substantially as well as it makes everything seem okay when it’s not. I’m talking about the small moments at work that can ruin your day or week. Also, some small incidents at home where it can put you in a bad mood. Just smile these feelings away. Combine that with arrogance thinking, and you are gold!

5. Be Classic

By Aaron Huber on Unsplash

Listen to Mozart or Beethoven, watch the Godfather, sit next to fireplace and smoke a cigar (you get the idea). Doing all that separates you from casual carelessness and awkwardness of some people in life. Also, it gives your mind a place where it can go back in time and relive the era of greatness.

Final Thoughts and Tips

  • You are smart, just use what you have to the fullest.
  • Do not hesitate but think.
  • Replace some of your interests with politics and history (they teach you a lot).
  • Free time? Read a book that discusses origin not application.
  • Fight your emotions with the power of your mind.
  • Don’t pick up fights with people (not verbal nor physical), just say okay.
  • Be classy with what you say to others.
  • Work on your vocabulary (It doesn’t have to be English any language applies).
  • Be relaxed at all times.
  • Tell yourself nothing is worth it unless it actually is (helps with relaxation).

Final word, being smart is a habit that you develop overtime, there is no being smart guidebook, it all depends on your mentality and imagination.
