How Do You Show Up For Yourself Each Day

The approach you take to starting your day is important. Here are five ways to approach your daily routine that can help.

How are you going to show up for yourself today? Have you given that any thought?

Every day, we must be there for work, family, friends, etc. By the time we get through an eight to ten-hour work day, what’s left? There isn’t much left for ourselves when you break down the day.

Deciding how you will show up for yourself today isn’t hard. You have to take action and commit to showing up for yourself today. When you do, you’ll discover showing up for yourself is easier than it sounds.

Steps To Showing Up For Yourself

Train yourself to make the best use of your time. It’s one of your most valuable assets. Yet, we humans spend our time in some of the most ludicrous ways. Cut out the pornography, the drinking, the wasted motion, and anything else that there isn’t a longer-term benefit from. If you’re not getting more out of something than you’re putting into it, then why are you doing it?

Train yourself to start each day positively. Through the use of affirmations, mindfulness, bible verses, morning exercises to clear your mind, or whatever works for you, start every day positively. If you can find a way to stay positive in the darkest of times, your days will be easier than they would have otherwise.

Take time for yourself. Truthfully, you’re not good for anyone when you’re stressed, when you’re not in a good place, or when you’re being a collosal__________! And you know it. So start managing yourself better, and you won’t be that person you never liked to begin with.

Be where you are, not where you want to be. Today, promise to focus on the here and now. Tomorrow will be there when you’re done working when you’ve spent time with people you care about, and when you’re sitting on the toilet where you have some extra time to look to the future. By overly thinking about what the future could be like, you’re wasting energies today that could be used to work toward that future.

Seize every opportunity. When you get up, decide you are going to make today your best day. You are going to take the opportunity for yourself, take control of everything today, and crush it. Every new day is an opportunity to learn something about yourself and show the world what you can do.

Final Thoughts

I’ve been through enough motivation and leadership classes that this is common sense until we stop and remember how easy it is to get bogged down by life.

We have to show up for ourselves. We’re the drivers of our journey, and nobody wants to turn that wheel over to someone else.

If we take better care of ourselves, we can train ourselves to be more aware of our time and how we spend it. Being mindful of the positives in our lives can help us to overcome the negatives, no matter how daunting a prospect it seems.

Everybody needs to make time for themselves. Make sure you’re living as well as can be and be present. Show up for yourself and make the best of every day, always remembering tomorrow is another chance. Tomorrow will come. Be where you are and do what you can with that moment.

If you’re showing up for yourself and you're there to win, seize every opportunity that presents itself. Never let a chance to smile go by. Make sure you tell the ones you love how you feel about them. And take what’s yours. In this life, you’ve got to grab life by the throat and take what you want.
