We need to get out of our heads and into our hearts. Our ideas, visions and goals can be accomplished but that can come to an abrupt holt in our tracks and smothered with self doubt. In other words IMPOSTER SYNDROME!

Do we define being successful by how much money we make each day and what we own, or do we define being successful with putting your time and energy into what you truly believe in each day, creating more impact in not only your life, but many others?

Here is my take on it.

Have you ever felt this surge of energy take over and you instantly know that this idea, or seed that you want to plant is going to be the direction that your soul is in need of?

I have many a times, and it’s a feeling like no other because it’s perfectly aligned with your purpose. But, we can’t help ourselves when we fall into the trap of self doubt, fear, judgment from others and any other external factors that may come into play.

In my experience, I took a leap of faith and it was one of the scariest things but also one of the most exhilarating choices too. I have been in the entertainment industry since I was 6 years old, and have always known to be a performer, teacher, choreographer, creator and mentor. I then decided to leap into writing, which then allowed me to become a published author of my first children’s book. If you would have asked me 5 years ago if I had any persuasion of a thought to lead me in this direction, I would have said you’re were a little crazy and perhaps laugh it off. This is where I really had to dig deep and believe in myself before anyone else needed to.

I can sit here and pretend it was the best experience and that I was completely confident knowing that this was the right thing for me, but that would be a lie.

I started my small business and plunged into it each day. I was finding communities that were guiding me along this new journey, and I was grateful for that because at most times, I felt like a little lost lamb. Slowly I started feeling more and more confident as the creative ideas flowed, and the one thing I knew I could do was to speak my truth through mindfulness products. I wanted to help others the way mindfulness ritual helped me in my darkest hours. Ritual is so important, and I wanted to share my passion through mindfulness. But here we go again, I am stripped raw to the core exposing myself and thinking what others would think of me. Can I really preach this? I’m not a professional at all so why would people listen to me? Teaching and performing is my life and I know I can preach about that, but can I really do this? I was told before that you should teach what you learn.

Let’s put it this way, the response I was receiving and the positive effect on others that my small business and products were creating, allowed me to remember my WHY. This is why I needed to reach new heights out of my own comfort zone. Mindfulness got me through many things in my own life, so that’s why I created my products and also felt the calling to incorporate my entertainment industry background, by creating a podcast show too.

So enough about my life, let’s get into this from every angle. We have become programmed in achieving things that others will be proud of and approve of your success because it’s what they pictured is best for you. Let’s kick that to the kerb and realise that you can be grateful for the things that you are doing each day in your life and creating the life that feels right in your heart. That may feel uncomfortable and a little selfish too, but that is exactly when you need to lean into it more and more. The reality is, that the best road for us to fulfil our purpose may not always be the easiest one. But when you can be proud of yourself each day and live in that alignment, you are already so successful in every way that exists.

A quote I came by one day said - Your biggest accomplishment isn’t the day you get married, have children, graduate from university or anything that may be of a high achievement. It is the day you discover your SELF WORTH.

My mind was blown when I read that because that resonated with me on every level. Ask yourself, do you know your self worth enough to push away the fears, judgements and self doubt enough for you to truly align with your purpose. Discover that, and you’ll never give into anything less than what you deserve in every part of your life.
