Time for Change

We all come to a point in our lives; choices we must make, paths we must choose, lessons we must learn, and overcome many pains and obstacles that may or do come our way. Then one day we wake up from our slumber and we know we must make change, not just within ourselves but all around us.

We want change in a world that has gone so wrong, but we first must become that change. Be something better than we once were. Strive every day to be a better person, more—loving, caring, and understanding of others around us.

Be willing to bridge the gap between good and evil—and bring harmony between them. We can’t escape the bad but we can become the greater good that is needed in a place that is meant to be beautiful. The world was created to be beautiful, but along the way humans had taken the beauty and tarnished it. But it’s because we as humans didn’t know better.

Eyes Wide Open

In our wakening moment, we begin to understand—we as a whole must do better; most importantly to bring better into the world one seed at a time; one growing moment we chose to be more than what we wanted to be. From the moment we began not being selfish, but more giving and loving to one another—and to our planet.

Looking back into history we know it tends to repeat itself, but it comes to show it’s about new people making old patterns and decisions—made by past peoples' same mistakes. When will people of society ever learn not to walk that same path—and walk a better one?

It is said, doing the same thing over and over again—and expecting a different result—is a sign of insanity. That being said, wouldn’t that mean leaders and society as a whole—is indeed a form of insanity? Until we finally wake from our slumber and realize—what am I doing?—This isn’t working, and this isn’t accepting—and we shouldn’t be accepting of it. We are doomed as a society to remain insane.

When will the insanity stop?! I ask, "why not now—why not right this moment?" If it were that simple it would be nice. But getting everyone awakened—and on the same page isn’t easy, especially when we have those trying to keep division amongst us—and asleep—rather than awakened.

Keep Trying

But that doesn’t mean we should stop trying to reach out; to be better, and help others to see; we can do better than what we have been, to care more, to be more—loving, giving, aware—and to be a better example for how we all should be toward each other.

It’s time we spent more time with each other in person—and not through a device—to have more personal relationships with family, friends—and people in general. Be there for each other, lending a helping hand without expecting anything in return—without the greed of more, more, more—and be more in the presence of being.

Think More About Others

Stop asking, “What can you give me?” And instead, ask, “What can I do to help my neighbor, friend, or even a stranger?” All without thinking we need recognition for it. Be more for someone else—and not so much about the self. Think outside of self, and see the people around us.

Making change—one positive moment at a time will add up quicker than one may realize. We must all slow down long enough in this fast pace world—so we can see what we all thought was important—is no longer important. Learn to be more in the present—not the past or future. We are no longer in the past—and the future isn’t here yet. The present even if it seems “awful.” When we think we have it bad—look around, and you’ll see there is someone that has it worse; you could make that person’s life easier—even if it’s a kind gesture or taking your time to acknowledge them—they may have been ignored by everyone—and you could be their last hope to help them see they do matter in this world. And at that moment you see their face light up; you’ll soon see what truly matters.

That’s only the beginning—but the seed must be planted in order to grow and flourish—into something more than that one moment of kindness. Let’s all do our part to, plant the seed of kindness in others around us—and help each other grow and to blossom into the beautiful flower—we’re all meant to become.

Then the world won’t seem as dark and gloomy as it once seemed; it would be what we decide to make it into, by looking through the darkness—and helping make it more beautiful and in becoming the beauty the world so desperately needs. Let our lights shine and eliminate the darkness around us. Any positive change is a great and powerful thing—be that positive change.
