It's pretty normal for us to start working as early as our mid teens, just to get some exposure to job experience, and to start earning some money for ourselves. At that age, we have to find a happy medium in juggling our study, our work, and time with our friends. The sad part is, starting work at the age of say 15, it leaves us with 50 years of work in front of us. That's a mighty long time. Even for those who start work after their studies have finished, that's still at least 45 years of work ahead them also. Considering that work will then consume around a third of the time we are alive throughout those 45 to 50 years, and another third would be allocated to sleeping, we are only left with one third of that time to do some of the things in life we enjoy, such as spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching television, and engaging in our hobbies. Let's be honest, much of that latter third is spent doing necessities also, such as cooking food, showering, eating, and cleaning the house. Where are we supposed to find the happiness and satisfaction we so desperately desire in life? How can we expect a handful of hours each day to deliver us this happiness and satisfaction? We only need to look around and see how many people are dissatisfied and unhappy about their lifestyle, because they have no flexibility or freedom to live a life they desire. People are tired, stressed, and demotivated, all because they are overworked, and worst of all, it's all caused by a job they don't even enjoy. The desperation for survival, comfort, and security, has most people settling for any old job, just so they have an income stream. Sure, we all need money to pay our bills, maintain a roof over our head, and provide food on the table, but why do so many of us settle for earning an income doing something we hate, rather than doing something we enjoy? If we are going to spend 45 to 50 years of our life working to earn a living, surely it makes sense to do something that makes us happy, and something we are truly passionate about? The problem is, we become too comfortable in our job, we become totally reliant on that paycheck, and we are fearful of making changes and taking risks to pursue something that we would enjoy, that we end up just settling for the job we have. We fail to invest time into seeking and devising options to turn our passion into our profession, we fail to believe in ourselves that we can create success from it, and we are concerned how others would perceive us if we did something different. For the sake of our happiness, satisfaction, and potential for success in the future, it's an absolute must that we find work we are truly passionate about. In discovering that passion, we become more motivated, we become inspired, we work more efficiently, and we naturally work at a higher standard. That third of life that make us miserable and unhappy, working a job we don't even enjoy, can be completely transformed. We start finding satisfaction, happiness, and fulfillment in the work we do, and even better, we get paid for doing work we enjoy. It's sad to think that so many people live their lives, making decisions, and executing actions, based on the need to try and impress others, all in a bid to avoid being judged and criticized. People feel this compulsive need to want to fit in with the crowd, to be accepted, respected, embraced, and liked by others. They simply can't handle the thought of not being liked by others, or being talked about negatively behind their back. In trying to avoid this, people will go out of their way to please others, even if that means altering their beliefs, characteristics, and personality. Basically, the need to be liked by others, and to be popular, is more important to them than being their true self, and living a life by their own design. What these people seem to either forget, or purposely choose not to acknowledge, is that there will always be people who will be nice to their face, yet be judging them, and gossiping about them, behind their back. Sadly, it's a common trait amongst the overwhelming majority of the human race. When we make decisions, and execute actions, in the best interest of our happiness, our goals, and our future, there will always be those who will judge and criticize us. Why? Because they may not be decisions or actions that those other people would be brave enough to do themselves, or they may not class them as normality to what society does. Some may express this criticism and judgement to our face, others may hide behind their mobile phone screen and type their thoughts, and then there are those who will basically bitch about us to others. If our decisions and actions don't please them, or if it perhaps inconveniences them, they become irritable and judgmental. Many people will say they have our best interest and welfare at heart, including our friends and loved ones, but their actions often suggest otherwise, because the only person who truly has our best interest and welfare at heart, is ourselves. Anyone who genuinely cares about our welfare and well-being would support us and encourage us to strive for greatness, not be opposing us. We know within our heart and mind, what decisions we need to make, and what actions we need to take, in order to create a future we desire, plus achieve our goals, and we need to remain committed to this. We can't allow the judgement and criticism of others to influence us against pursuing our goals, and creating a successful and fulfilling future for ourselves.
