Why Earthing?

Get your feet on the ground with earthing—your new best friend.

Ok, maybe earthing won't become your BEST friend, but it is certainly a FWB type of situation. And summer is the perfect time to begin this relationship. If you're like me, it will turn in to a fulfilling, long-term relationship!

Earthing, also known by some (including me more often than not) as grounding, is gaining steam, and for good reason. It has epic benefits to health and well-being, including

  • saying byeee to stress.
  • easing inflammation n' pain.
  • better circulation.
  • helps protect you from the dreaded EMFs (dun dun dunnn). If you haven't heard of EMFs, to put it quickly they're the radiation from electronics. To really scare yourself, Google it.
  • ensuring a better night—sorry I dozed off there. A better night's sl—zzz.
  • increased energy for those times when you do have to be awake (am I the only one who loves sleep possibly probably more than being awake?)
  • improved metabolic, endocrine, immune, digestive, nervous system, and probably reproductive function, due to the electrical entrainment your body experiences with the earth. For proof of this, look it up. I'm not a medical encyclopedia!
  • a greater connection with mother earth. You can't really verify this with a study, you just have to FEEL it, man.
  • increasing cash flow. Ok I made that one up but it could happen... Right?

Personally in my own life, earthing helps me feel grounded and centred, which if you're not into spiritual lingo means I feel more peaceful and aware of myself in the moment, as opposed to thinking about the past or future, or being on zombie autopilot. If you *are* into spiritual lingo—hello, and namaste sister/brother—earthing totes helps align your chakras. Trust me, I'm an energy healer! (True story). Earthing helps me feel wakeful and alive, and eases inflammation.

How to earth!🌎?

  1. Take off footwear or just don't wear any.
  2. Go outside onto the bare earth (grass, dirt), unsealed concrete, or water (ocean, stream, etc). If you're already outside with no shoes on, you're already earthing!
  3. You did it #winning (Does anyone say that anymore? Did anyone ever really say that? What even happened to that guy? Did I have too much coffee?)

Anyways yeah that's it. You can walk around, play, take a selfie, swim, sit, lay down (though maybe not all at the same time). As long as you're touching the earth with your bare skin, you #win. By win I mean, get the benefits listed above, but you knew that, you smarty pants, you. Always have to be ONE step ahead of me, don't you?

Love.

You can also earth through socks made of natural fibers like cotton, or with leather soled shoes (not really an option if you're vegan. If you are vegan, and you wear leather soled shoes, trust me when I say that I WILL phone the vegan police) 🚔.

There are even FURTHER ways to earth, some without even touching the earth (whaaa?) But I'll discuss those on another story.

Thank you for reading til the end! 💙 You're special, and you deserve all the good the earth has to offer.
