Can 30 minutes of moderate exercise put you back on your weight loss goals for 2022?

Many people wouldn't believe this concept, but it is true. Hitting the gym for hours is not the only way to lose weight monthly. Engaging in activities around the house or in your immediate environment are excellent alternatives. You can eliminate the two to three hours workout routine to compensate for not going to the gym. And the best part is weight loss is guaranteed in just a few weeks.

On the other hand, staying motivated to achieve your weight loss goals is half of the work. It might be twice as hard to stay motivated. But how much motivation would it require to do 30 minutes of exercise daily? Can committing to 30 minutes of exercise for at least five days weekly help your weight loss goals? Experts have weighed in, providing insight into this particular subject. This is what they had to say.

What does research show?

There are numerous articles online about the effectiveness of 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily. But two fitness articles record the benefits of 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily.

Both publications referenced two research articles from The American Journal of Physiology. Information from verywellfit website proved that a group of men who exercised for half-hour lost the same amount of weight as the group who exercised for one hour. As surprising as it is, the evidence proved that 30 minutes of exercise is an effective weight-loss method. Page Waehner, a Personal Trainer and Fitness writer, recommends that beginners do 30 minutes of moderate exercise for 5 days will be beneficial.

Eat This, Not That!, a health website, referenced another article in which the weight loss of different groups of men was compared over three months. The information explained by Ph.D. student Mads Rosenkilde proved that men exercising for 30 minutes lost an average of 3.6 kilos in three months. While the men who exercised for an hour lost an average of 2.7 kilos in three months. Both groups were subject to the same amount of moderate exercise.

What is more interesting are the supplemental findings. Both pieces of research proved that the men in the group doing 30 minutes of exercise daily had a better outcome because of their mood. In each article, these men had more stamina, were less stressed, and were highly motivated after each workout session.

Scientific evidence proved that 30 minutes of exercise is sufficient to promote weight loss. The research also supported another major factor of weight loss, motivation.

Moderate exercise for only 30 minutes daily is an effective weight-loss method. Beginners can exercise for 30 minutes daily to stay motivated while changes come. Staying motivated maintains consistency, and consistency leads to results.

Motivation is key to a successful exercise regimen. After hours of constantly wearing down the body, eventually, the mind starts to give up and lose motivation and momentum. At this point, the mind begins to make excuses. Soon one day's rest becomes a week of rest. Overtime motivation is gone, there is no momentum, and exercise time is replaced with another activity.

Luckily, fitness experts realized this cycle and wanted to provide a solution. Research results proved that 30 minutes of exercise also help to decrease stress and frustration, gives more stamina, and even boosts overall health. If each workout session makes you happy and energized, it's more likely to do so repetitively. The 30 minutes exercise regimen solves two obstacles to exercise and weight loss success.

The benefit of a good exercise regimen is endless. Importantly, exercise is not only physical. There is a mental component too. Therefore, choosing the most suitable form of exercise is also vital to your weight loss goals. A few workouts recommended by researchers are:

  1. Dancing
  2. Bicycling (at a rate of 10 miles per hour)
  3. Water aerobics
  4. Brisk walking
  5. Gardening

The exercises listed above are both muscular and aerobic. Aerobic is essential to ensure proper oxygenation to cells during physical workouts. Vital organs like the brain and heart are sufficiently oxygenated, while the muscular recover from fatigue quicker.

Let's sum things up...

Research evidence proved that 30 minutes of exercise daily is sufficient to promote weight loss. The results show that engaging the body in only 30 minutes of moderate to high-intensity exercise addresses the mental aspect of weight loss. Both motivation and continued momentum contributes to consistency. And consistency brings success.

During the 30 minutes you do not have to drive to the gym. Completing tasks around the house and yard burns the same calories as 30 minutes on the treadmill. Completing these task gives self-satisfaction, motivation and continued momentum.

Now it is time for you to start your exercise regimen. Beginner to expert, everyone will benefits from this regimen and accomplish their weight loss goals.
