Practicing gratitude is an incredible way to elevate your energy. People who practice gratitude are happier, more attractive, and generally more positive. But the benefits of gratitude don’t have to stop there. Practicing gratitude for the things you want can help you manifest your dreams into fruition.

Again, practice gratitude for the things you desire, but don't yet have.

This practice comes from Joe Dispenza. His advice is to connect gratitude with intention. When we practice gratitude while also thinking about our intentions, goals or aspirations, we send that energy towards us. It is a powerful way to bring our dreams to us instead of going to them.

So how does it work?

Hacking the body

So you have heard of hacking as a scary thing (your bank or computer). But hacking your own body can be used for good. It is a funny thought, but a relatively easy trick. Here is how it works. When you practice gratitude you move energy levels from low centers to high centers. The energy moves from your lower pelvis to your higher, heart center.

It sounds like too easy a hack to be true, but most of us spend a lot of time in states of stress. When stressed, our bodies stay in survival mode or low energetic centers. However, if we cultivate gratitude we will hack our bodies, putting them at higher-frequency energy levels. When we do this, we come to believe in bigger and better things. We will start to trust ourselves a bit more and expand our horizons.

When we practice gratitude, our bodies start operating at a higher level of frequency. We start interacting with people from our heart space, which is open, understanding, and non-judgemental. We are much more likely to make connections, be open to opportunities, and feel courageous. This brings us into a state of susceptibility.

State of susceptibility

The state of susceptibility is one in which we are open to receive. We are open to opportunities that come to us. You could be walking past or ignoring opportunities that could make your dreams come true every day. When we inhabit the state of susceptibility we are much more likely to welcome these opportunities and fulfill our dreams.

We do this by being grateful for things that we want. We are grateful for them as if they already exist. We are grateful for them in the present moment. We embody a future version of ourselves as if it exists in the present. Then, we are much more likely to step into this person in the future, because we know what that feels like.

Our bodies and minds love patterns they are familiar with. The idea is to create a pattern your body and mind will be attracted to. What will it feel like to achieve your dreams? Start to embody that feeling, create the mental patterns of happiness and joy for achieving your goals. Then your body and mind will be susecptible to recreating these patterns. You bring your future self, towards you.

Intention, Goal, Emotion

Start by holding an intention in your body and then feel grateful for this intention as if it exists in your body now. Along with this gratitude, attach a positive emotion to the way you are feeling: joy, bliss, or fulfillment. Try this practice with small things that you will be grateful for. Say thank you to the universe for blooming flowers you have yet to see or an effortless run you have yet to take. Say thank you to the universe for a job well done at work, that you have yet to do.

Then build to bigger visions of your life. Use this worksheet, by Joe Dispenza, to help you. Keep yourself on target by combining gratitude, with intention and high-frequency emotions. By doing this daily, you’ll see how you have so much power to change the world around you - just through gratitude.

Gratitude makes us happier in the present and connects us with others, which is reason enough to start a gratitude practice. But gratitude also has the power to shape our future. If you practice being grateful for the things you want, you can materialize them right in front of your eyes.
