The Unknown Zodiac: Your REAL Star Sign Meanings

Have you ever looked up the definition of your Zodiac sign and thought ‘well that doesn’t sound very much like me...’? Because saaaaaaaame. I’m an Aries girl and I’ve always felt that I didn’t fit the description: a bold, self-confident leader. I mean, I CAN be all of those things but it’s not quite the right fit, I certainly wouldn't use these words to describe my character.

That’s because there are two sides to every Zodiac sign, and I’m not just talking about the Gemini’s in the room! Each Zodiac sign actually has two different ‘sides’ and two different ‘types’ that go way beyond the concise tabloid Horoscope sections that most people have experience with. So in this article, I would like to explain Zodiac types, but first, let’s briefly discuss the different sides and what that actually means.

When people talk about the two sides of a Zodiac sign, they essentially mean the good qualities and the bad qualities that people of this sign share. For example, Aries are brave, active role models but they can also push those qualities to the point of bossiness or manipulation. Like everything in life, there’s a light side and a shadow side.

What most people don’t know about though are the two different types of Zodiac sign and this is why a huge chunk of people feel that their sign doesn’t match them as a person.

The first type of Zodiac is the description that is the most people are aware of, this is the one that you’ll likely read on a whole slew of websites if you googled your star sign.

Type two of a Zodiac sign is often a lot different than the first and usually not talked about as much. Type Two happens when a person is born on the cusp of a certain star sign, so they're more of a mix between the two.

And guess what? It goes even deeper! The Zodiac is also affected by what planets were where at the time of your birth, so there are lots of small, complicated factors involved when it comes to reading a person's astrology. This is one of the main reasons that people think that astrology is just weird hokum - they have only ever experienced the short, vague sections in magazines and newspapers. If you explore your birth astrology deeper, you'll find it differs greatly from what you may have already discovered because it has been tailored specifically for you as an individual.

ARIES

March 21st - April 19th

Shared Strengths: Bravery, Determination, Self-Confidence, Enthusiasm.

Shared Weaknesses: Easily irritated, Selfish, Bossy, Indecisive.

Type 1: You have a short temper and when you're mad, it explodes! You're often seen as grumpy because you get irritated easily and you never back down from a fight, especially if you're right - and you always are! You can be pretty quiet, but when you're mad you become a terrifyingly intimidating force of nature. You're not sure why people are scared of you though, because underneath it all you're a bit of a softie. You're driven towards your creative goals and can be a bit bossy, but you get things done.

April 20th - May 20th

Type 1: You're a hard worker, but outside of work? Absolute couch potato.
