Hoping for better days to come.

The situation of coronavirus started in Wuhan, leading a total of more than 308,000 citizens affected across the globe, with more than 81,000 being across China, more than 53,000 being in Italy, and more than 26,800 in the States. For the past couple of months, the situation had led to global attention, and countries had taken various measures to combat this virus. On the other hand, according to Forbes, President Trump, being anti-Chinese, even labelled the coronavirus as "Chinese virus," saying that such term is "not racist at all." However, there has not been a definite evidence that such virus came from China. It is still yet to be discovered.

On the news, people of different ethnic Chinese groups are seen to be bullied overseas in public. Just because they may as well speak Mandarin, they may not be necessarily be from the mainland China. Besides, along a viral video online, SCMP has reported that a man licked his finger and wiped it on the handrail inside a Hong Kong MTR train. A spokesman for the Hong Kong MTR Corporation has said that, "We strongly condemn such a behaviour which blatantly disregarded public hygiene." These kinds of behaviour in public should be taken in higher consideration and better monitored.

The following ideas serve as personal view on some of the essentials to fighting against this epidemic.

First, all associated institutions in every country and city must be transparent with reporting the actual numbers of affection, recovery, and death. In this way, the public can then know the actual affection rate. Since this matter has made to global attention, this way can lead to countries helping other countries in this virus battling. Measures are to be adjusted accordingly upon the changes of the social impact of the epidemic.

Second, the public should be all educated on the related hygiene measures that they should follow daily. All should know the proper way of washing their hands after touching public facilities and the moment once they take off their masks after they arrive home. The toilet seat covers should be covered before flushing after use. Public facilities, including handrails of escalators and door handles, are also needed to be disinfected regularly.

Nonetheless, this is not the time to blame the fault for this pandemic on anyone or anything, but all countries and citizens should be united to fight against the disease. Citizens should not be against another just because that person is not of the same ethnicity as you, or because that person is Chinese or just Asian even. All should be treated as equal. Especially in this season, people are struggling with their finances, education needs, or even common daily supplies for hygiene needs. We are not supposed to go against one another based upon any kind of anger or hatred, but to together discover better ways to combat this pandemic.

In the meantime, people would feel being disrupted on their regular schedules - not going to work and not seeing those they wanted. However, social distancing is necessary to help reduce the transmission rate of the virus. Not just those who are supposed to be quarantined by the related policy should follow the policy and not escape from monitoring, but others who have developed symptoms should also self-quarantine and be responsible with montioring themselves. More others should also reduce the number of possible gatherings with those they know. Thosands of cases have been reported across media, but I personally, am hoping this global pandemic will not last for too long. I am hoping the day of harmony will eventually come as people unite in actions.
