self care
For a healthy mind, body, and soul.
Coming To Rest
*Republished from my personal blog. One of the challenges I routinely face is living with the effects of a painful medical condition. I should point out that my condition is not related to misfiring neurons causing a perception of pain with no external stimulus. There is a physical trigger and thus the pain itself is a physiological and completely normal response to what is going on internally. Pain is a biological necessity for our survival, either directing us away from an external source to prevent further harm or slowing us down in order to heal from infection or injury. It’s what I do with my mind in the midst of the symptoms, however, that leads to the greatest suffering.

The Significance of Remaining Solo.
The Significance of Remaining Solo A positive outlook on being single is one of the most crucial prerequisites for a successful relationship. The more content we are with being alone, the easier it will be to proceed with care when looking for a new friend. The foundation of true love is contented singleness. Unfortunately, our societies don't offer much to support our ability to feel at ease or peaceful in our own company. The idea of singleness is presented as an unavoidable, unpleasant, and always ideally transient state. A world built by hordes of silently unhappy couples seeking assurance that they are on the right track terrifies the idea that someone could need or desire to be alone, possibly for a long time.
