We all know that broccoli is good for us. But, could it be classed as an actual medicine? Well, the cruciferous vegetable, or, more specifically, the phytochemical Sulforaphane, which is found in relatively high concentrations in broccoli, is currently being researched as a possible treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Joe SnaithPublished 4 years ago in LongevityWhat I Eat in a Day to Stay Healthy
I have never shared my fitness journey on my blog before. If I am being honest, I wasn’t 100% sure that I could do it. I also never liked photos of me, so posting monthly pictures of my progress was my worst nightmare. I am really proud of my progress because I made a lifestyle change. I didn’t do one of those crazy diets or use weight-loss pills. I simply changed my diet, went to the gym more and most importantly, was consistent. I definitely didn’t see results right away—it took a few months—but once my clothes starting fitting better, I wanted to keep going.

"Body Image" is the way that someone perceives their body and assumes that others may perceive them. This image can also be affected by family, friends, social pressure, and the media. People who are unhappy with their bodies are often unhappy because they don't seek healthy nutrition information, and may, therefore, develop lots of different eating disorders. "Eating disorders" are unhealthy relationships with food that may include fasting, constant dieting, or binging and purging.

The gut and Fibromyalgia is a very important topic for sufferers because many doctors are linking the two. The research is still too early to determine a definite link, but there's little doubt in my mind that if our gut is cranky, then the rest of the body will surely follow your gut's lead.

Plants are living things, we often forget that. Like all living things, they have the ability to sense their environment and make changes that allow them to survive “better.”
Intelligent MovementPublished 4 years ago in LongevityMy Right to Become Fabulous at Fifty
Are we ever in control of our own destiny? I am in my fifties and at one time I thought that I had my life all planned out. No husband, no children, I was going to do as much traveling as possible and I was going to work as hard as I could so that I could retire by the time I was thirty. A wise woman once told me that, "PLANS CHANGE" and boy, did they ever. Thinking back, when did it all really change for me? I would have to say that every ten-year milestone had some impact on my life choices. It is how I decided to handle those choices that make me the person that I turned out to be.
Linda BlankenshipPublished 4 years ago in LongevityVeganism After Anorexia
When I first expressed my desire to go vegan, it is unsurprising that the response I received was overwhelmingly negative. I was fifteen and still in the grips of a severe eating disorder that had been a part of my life for the past three years. Whilst I was convinced that my desire to go vegan was entirely unrelated: I'd done the research and was horrified by the ethical and environmental repercussions of animal agriculture; in hindsight, at the time, all of my thoughts and wants were dominated by anorexia.

If you have been following me on Vocal this is my second post for my ‘healthy eating challenge.’ Today is my first day of dieting and I am already feeling a load off my body. The food I have chosen absolutely fills me up. It’s amazing that what I have chosen, I would already feel like this.
