Spiritual Growth: Things to Remember

When working on spiritual growth, there are some key things you need to remember.

The idea of spiritual growth comes up in most people's lives at one point or another. When working on spiritual growth, there are some key things you need to remember and a few things that you must start with before you can begin your growth at all.

#1. Acceptance

In terms of growing as a person, no matter what there will be things that have happened in your life that you are going to have to accept, whether it be something you did that keeps you up at night or something someone else did to you that lingers every time you get in a similar situation with anyone else. At some point, preferably the beginning, of your spiritual journey, you will have to accept the things that have happened and you will have to accept that you can't change it. In order to grow and move on, acceptance is key.

#2. Open Mindedness

In the spiritual growth realm, there are many different tools waiting for you to discover them. Whether you do yoga, meditation, work with healing crystals, or do crafts to make you feel better, many of the spiritual growth communities will take open mindedness. I myself am very much into healing crystal. This is one that for sure needs an open mind to work. Most people will look at crystals and stones and say "that's just a rock," but they actually all have different effects due to their vibrations. You will have to study things and find what works for you to help keep you present and mindful in your spiritual growth journey but if you want it to work, it will definitely need an open mind.

#3. Changes

Most people start thinking about their spiritual growth because they acknowledge that they need some kind of change in their day to day lives. Others, on the other hand, want to rush into being spiritually grown without putting in any of the work and not wanting to accept any of the changes they're going to have to make. To grow as a person, you're going to have to change some of your behaviors and change the way you see things. You must be actively trying to change your perception. You also have to acknowledge and change the toxic traits that you as a human have. This takes many changes and a lot of work but in the end, it's well worth it for your wellbeing.

#4. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I think the last and most important thing to remember when starting a spiritual growth journey is to not be too hard on yourself. You're going to still have bad days, you'll fall back into your old patterns at times, and you won't see the results right away. Others in your life are likely not going to notice your growth right away either. All of that is okay. Growth is something you have to actively work at every day and while you work on it you have to remind yourself that you are only human and no matter what you think, nobody is perfect. Your past doesn't define your present, only you can control how you react and how you see things, and you can become a better you.
