Holistic and affordable high end spa treatments DIY
Spa at home holistically and affordably ! No need to skimp on the self care treatments during Covid quarantine!
You can use kitchen leftovers for some fabulous high end treatments. I will list several natural beauty recipes in this story.
1)First up is a coffee and coconut oil full body and face scrub. Mix used coffee grinds that have been dried with coconut oil for a simple scrub. This recipe is versatile and you can add ingredients to enhance certain effects such as essential oils for cellulite or other oils.
2) A steam facial can open and clean pours. It helps with moisturizing and anti-aging also. I use a facial sauna however it can be done with a bowl of water heated in the microwave to a steam then cover head with a towel as you lean over the steam allowing it to reach your skin but not so close it burns.
3) Almost all fruits and vegetables have topical benefits of one kind or another. You can easily look up each by searching " topical benefits of__ " and fill in the blank with the fruit or vegetable you have remainders of from normal food preparation or anything that for some reason is not up to par to be eaten it may still be good for topical treatments.
4) Rice water has been used as a facial and skin toner in oriental counties for a very long time. It helps whiten and brighten your skin. simple use the starchy water left after cooking rice.
5) For hair leftover black coffee and or leftover flat beer are great ! I like to mix the two. I do not drink beer however my dad does and when he visits he is sure to leave a bit in the last beer he drinks for me to use on my hair once it has gone flat. Coffee helps strengthen and add shine while beer helps five fullness as well as other benefits from each. The caffeine in the coffee also helps increase circulation to the scalp which in itself can have a multitude of benefits.
Beside kitchen leftovers you can also get great high end spa treatments straight from your or neighbor with whom you have permission to get flowers. Many flower petals and herbs can be used in botanical baths. I like adding things such as Epsom salts or detoxifying clays to baths as well which can be bought fairly cheap. Some great garden plants for spa use is mint which increases circulation which helps renew skin, roses of course, honeysuckle for evening skin tone and also great if you happen to get a rash on a nature hike collecting flowers.
Other items that can be bought online pretty cheap besides the clays and salts is dead sea mineral mud and light machines such as red light face mask.
Sometimes simply using the right technique can be part of spa at home treatments. The motions you use when applying products to your face can matter. For throat and neck use upward weeping motions. for under eyes go from outer corner to inner corner. For upper eyes go from inner corner to outer corner. when doing entire eye area you can make a circle using these points as a guide. For forehead area go from center out and up. For cheeks use motions from chin to ear in sweeping motion.
Sometime you can grow more than just flowers and herbs. You can even grow luffa guard, that's right the luffa exfoliation sponge comes from a plant.
