Reading for 8-26 thru 9-1-19.

The Center card this week is the 6 of Wands

The sixes of the Tarot are inherently about balance. As above so below. They engender meeting an obstacle or challenge and emerging on the other side with the knowledge that we’ve succeeded, we’ve figured it out, we’ve survived. Not only have we come out of the challenge with the wisdom of experience, we find the ability to recognize the events or reasons that we got tangled up in the first place. With a feeling of peace born of successful outcomes, we find ourselves stronger and wiser. Now, when presented with the particular triggers or urges that drew us into confusion or frustration, we can make a conscious choice about whether we want to repeat the experience or shift focus and go in a different direction. As this 6 is in the suit of Wands, the demands on our energy have been heavy. We employed a great chunk of passionate drive and we seem to have been riding an adrenaline high. As the pressure declines, however, so does the drive to meet it. Often with that kind of drain on our inner resources, we find ourselves in a period of exhaustion or depletion when we need to retreat and regroup. The Knight of Pentacles is a great, stable energy to compliment that.

The West card is the Knight of Pentacles

With this Knight, we find ourselves preoccupied with settling our surroundings into a relaxed, centered, peaceful place of solace. This doesn’t necessarily mean we hook up a fountain with a koi pond and create an altar in the living room (unless, of course, that brings you joy) but more that we rediscover the calm and nurturing energy that we associate with “home.” Take a look at your sleeping space. Is the energy clear or cluttered? Do you feel as though that place is safe? Calm? Nurturing? Can you rest there? Or is it just a place to escape, hide or shut down for a few hours? Give some thought to your whole living space. It can be very important to have a place to release the cares of everyday life and give over to relaxation and recuperation from the day’s demands. I know that in some cases, getting to a place where you can decompress is hard. Home can be as busy, if not more so, than work. If that’s an issue, see if you can come up with a place to go, a park or the woods or church or the beach or even the local library. Sometimes taking a long bath is a good solution too. You can close and lock the door and let those around you know that you’ll be “offline” for a bit. In any case, there will likely be a pull early in the week to find such a place to relax and review our choices and actions of the past few weeks.

The East card is the 6 of Swords

Another card of balance. The suit of Swords relates to our intellect and suggests that we’re now seeing things from a balanced perspective. We can see and understand where we are and how we got here. From this viewpoint, we can now see clearly the different avenues to take going forward. Our powerful, and often very chatty, left-brain, cognitive thought processes are happily churning away with ideas and plans that connect well with the work we’ve put in and the obstacles we’ve overcome. During this time of clarity, it might be a good idea to jot down ideas, make notes or sketches, discuss ideas with friends and family. Begin to breathe the life of intention into them.

In conclusion

This will likely be a week of rest, calm and introspection. For some it may seem as though the forward motion of the last week or two has ground to a halt. That may actually be the case but it doesn’t mean that progress has stopped. There are times when we must step back and let the recipe we put together cook. It does no good to keep opening the oven to check, that just adds to the cooking time.

Have a rejuvenating week.

Light,

Tory
