Everyone eventually at one point or another wants to start a weight loss or even weight gain journey. We have all been advised to start with proper diet and exercise to get us there from health professionals. They will advise to eat less and move more. But sometimes it seems even when following the basic steps, it seems to not really get any results. At that point maybe certain supplements can help give us that boost start we need. Health professionals will not prescribe supplements unless you are over a certain BMI of 30 or higher. There are several over-the-counter supplements that you can also discuss with a health professional to try also. Based on what our body needs, we can pick from at least one or more categories of supplements while also taking possible side effects into consideration. Supplements could be anything from vitamins to something more geared towards strictly burning fat.

Most people would start with vitamins such as B vitamins that could enhance one's metabolism, converting food into fuel. Omega-3 fatty aids in protecting the heart and blood vessels and calms inflammation. Taking vitamin C will help keep immune system strong during your journey to keep you going. Vitamin D helps bone, neuromuscular, and cell growth. It also helps to reduce inflammation, and this is really a good supplement for people who are doing weight lifting.

Let's not forget about probiotics and fiber to promote stomach health, which is very important, especially depending on your diet change. In addition to taking your daily vitamins, some people find it beneficial to also incorporate in other supplements for their extra boost. There are supplements that help to reduce appetite, reduce the absorption for fats from foods, and increase your body's ability to burn fat. There are some supplements that do all three. Again, you have to find which works best for you.

Garcinia Cambogia has become popular worldwide. It works to increase serotonin to help reduce cravings. As far as results, it is definitely based on each person; some people did not see any reduction in fat loss and some people have. There have not been any reports of any serious side effects with this except mild digestive problems. Hydroxycut has been around for years and still remains popular and since then has created different strengths. It also comes in pills, capsules, gummies, drinks, and shakes. It is a blend of ingredients that is supposed to help with all three factors, such as reduce appetite, burn fat, and block fat absorption. It has been shown to aid in a 21-pound weight loss in a three month period.

The side effects of this would be if you are caffeine sensitive, it could cause jitters, anxiety, and irritability. Orlistat (Alli) has been also around for years, and it works to break down the fat in your gut. It has been shown to increase weight loss by six pounds. Side effects have been to show loose stools, frequent bowel movements, and the inability to absorb fat-soluble vitamins. All of these of course can be bought over-the-counter. Some people take more of an herbal route to be able to promote the body to heal n' soothe after an intense workout. There are pills that can be given by prescription that do the same things. There is only one so far that works differently called Contrave. It actually works in two areas of the brain to control hunger that way. Health professionals also use some diabetic pills to help aid in weight loss as well. Keep in mind that there is no magic pill, but they will help aid in the process of weight loss.
