Poverty and Holistic Life

One of the first things that anyone who bothers to see a psychotherapist hears is that you cannot change others. What you can do is change yourself so that you can 'exist' among them (others), at no cost to your mental health - and therefore your mind and body.

What is Holism

The definition of the word 'holism' (which apparently derives from 'whole' - and in English is holism) in philosophy is "the theory - and corresponding practice - that gives priority to the whole, as opposed to the part.

It believes that the whole is meritoriously superior, relative to the sum of the parts. It holds that the parts of a whole are interrelated in such a way that their approach, understanding and interpretation are possible only by reference to the whole."

That is, to understand something - anything - you have to understand the relationship between the 'parts' that make it up.

For the record, this was not the first definition. The man to whom the term is credited (the South African politician, military leader and philosopher who lived from 1870 to 1950), Jan Smuts had said in his 1926 book Holism and Evolution that the precise meaning of holism depends on the context in which we place it.

He defined holism as a theory according to which the whole is more than the sum of its component parts.

What is The Holistic Approach

It is an approach in which the human being is seen as a unity of body, soul and spirit. And he has to take care of all these three parts, since one depends on the other.

The five pillars of holistic well-being are (a) body, (b) soul, (c) emotional state, (d) spiritual state, (f) social life.

According to the holistic approach to health, the human body is not a sum of individual parts, but a complex interconnected and interdependent system of life processes.

You don't leave everything to reason, you don't turn off emotions, you connect your whole being (including the heart and mind) and become more aware, more satisfied and more motivated.

It is a way of life that nourishes your mind, body and soul and allows us to look at the bigger picture. Which is the whole person.

What is Holistic Living

It is a way of life and a way of thinking. We nurture the mind, body and spirit by focusing on our well-being (internal and external). As The Mind Fool states, "Holistic living is an approach in which we nurture the mind, body and soul to maintain a balance -in our inner selves. It is a mindset of awareness of intentional care of ourselves.

The principle of this approach comes from Aristotle's saying that 'the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

This means that each of the individual 'parts', when connected, are worth more than when they were separate. Obviously it varies from person to person and the most important role is played by our will to live a balanced and healthy life.

It takes daily consistency (with healthy habits and practices) and priorities to cultivate a positive mindset, get rid of stress and tension, increase self-awareness, identify life goals and 'get out' positive energy.

How To Achieve Holistic Living

On the Internet we found countless guides with basic principles of holistic living. Here are the ones that were on all the websites we visited.

Create a daily self-care routine - starting with a 15-minute morning routine (listen to your body and treat it with care and respect. You learn to love yourself).

Incorporate good eating habits - Nutrition is one of the most important elements of the holistic approach. It includes lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, as you avoid health problems by eating the right foods.

Do meditation - Holistic health starts with peace of mind.

Practice self-awareness - Observe your thoughts and whatever you do, do it consciously, in the moment. You don't dwell on the past. You don't get caught up in the future.

Exercise regularly - To have peace of mind and body - and to improve, in general, your health. It's a good start to take the stairs to the office or walk in the park-as long as you limit the hours spent on the couch.

Invest in developing yourself - You are your most valuable asset. Buy books, listen to podcasts, attend events and/or online courses. Give yourself intellectual nourishment and improvise constantly).

Express your gratitude - Gratitude is one of the ways that can change your life, more quickly. It heals the mind and soul.

Write down your thoughts - When you write down what you think, you have a way to 'get your feelings out' of your soul and mind without hurting anyone.

Treat your body with natural remedies - Since you use a lot of chemicals every day, let's switch to healthy natural options. Like an essential oil, instead of an antidepressant.

Make positive thinking, a habit - Positive thinking and belief is a way of life. It brings opportunities and good people into your life-along with resources. It improves physical and emotional health)

Create a beneficial environment for yourself - An environment with 'food' for the mind, positive people, self-discipline, healthy foods and whatever else is good for you).

Get proper rest - If you want to really move forward in your life, you shouldn't compromise on your health. You need rest and sleep for physical, mental and emotional rejuvenation.

Spend your time, wisely - Think about how you will use the free time you have on small, simple things that are good for you. Focus on choices for self-development, versus cheap entertainment and general health from a junk food).

Have a minimalist approach - Give away what you don't use, fix what you want that's broken, and recycle what you can. Your overall balance needs balance in the way you use things).

Smile a lot - Adults have forgotten to smile because of the constant stress of everyday life. But when we smile, we release endorphins and automatically feel better).
