Patience is a virtue.

It is priceless.

Patience they say is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. You might also need this to add to that, "One minute of patience equates ten years of peace." We all must embrace patience and make it a huge part of us in all we do. A lot of times life places us in some tight situations and positions, positions that test our patience and will warrant us acting at the spot. Sometimes it is always very difficult to be patient at that particular time but then if we make patience a part of us, we will eat the good of it. While growing up i was told a story of a lady, she graduated from school and she was on the lookout for jobs. She wasn't the patient type, she prefers everything as soon as possible and sometimes at the spot. Once she's faced with a puzzle or challenge, all she does is give up, she just does not have that luxury of patience in her.

She was a member of a Christian congregation when on a Sunday they made announcements about a company that needed people and they made their vacancy open to all. She was recommended by the church pastor to the owner of the company. She was invited for the interview a week later. She got to the company, she was told to have a sit which she did. People were coming in after her for the interview and they were being invited in while she was still sitting. She was giving lovely hospitality but just like the saying "Characters are like flames, you can't hide them for too long." She wasn't feeling comfortable, she was annoyed, the thought of seeing people walk past her into the interview room didn't go down well with her. Just a little patience would have gotten her her dream job. Unknowingly for her due to the recommendation she had from the pastor, the director automatically had decided there wasn't going to be any sort of interviews for her, meaning it was going to be like automatic employment. All along while she walked in the company director was notified, and he switched the CCTV to view her directly. All he was after was her composure, human relations and relationship, and patience. She got annoyed and she got on her feet saying a lot of things to the extent of talking ill of the company, she walked up to the receptionist and said a lot of harsh things to her. The receptionist responded, "Madam you will be attended to shortly." She angrily hit her hand on the front desk and left the company.

She went to the pastor and told him all that had happened? He then said to her all that the director planned to do for her and that it was just a test of patience. He wanted to see how she can hold herself even when things aren't going as they should. But then it was just too late to amend her behavior and actions at the company so she lost the job.

A lot of times we are the ones deciding our losses, we are the ones determining our bad turnouts all because we despise patience as little as it may be.

Patience solves a lot than hurry. There are times when all you have to do is just sit back and go over that situation again, and sometimes it might just be one more time, then you figure out the way. Sometimes it's just by keeping quiet. You really do not have to respond to everything every time. Patience is key, make good use of it and it will open great doors for you.
