Have you ever felt overworked, stressed, unhealthy, insomniac? Do you struggle to ask for help when you do?

According to a reputed naturopath, it is not the number of years in your life that matter, it is quality of those years. If you are unhappy and want to make yourself happy, then it would take a lot more than talking to a friend.

In this article, we share the expert naturopath tips that will help you reclaim your life and add more quality to it.

Think positive

It is very important to start your day with positive thoughts. Smile as soon as you open your eyes. This simple practice will not only help you release stress but also prevent your body from releasing stress hormones like cortisol and encourage the production of feel-good hormones, dopamine and serotonin.

Take a hot and cold shower

Also known as contrast showering, you can shower with hot water for a minute and then 30 seconds of cold water. Repeat this exercise at least three times. There are many benefits of contrast showering. For starters, it will wake you up and prepare you for the day’s challenges. At the same time, the hot and cold shower will increase your circulation, remove toxin build-up, and stimulate lymphatic circulation that can improve your immunity system.

Take a body rub

Doing a body rub takes all of five minutes before or after shower. Doing this everyday will have significant impact on your health. Use an unbleached and organic washcloth dipped in hot water and rub your skin gently. Pay special attention to areas like underarms, collarbones, heart area, soles, back of the knees, and inguinal canal where there are groupings of lymph channel. Doing this everyday will stimulate your immune system, release toxins, increase lymph circulation, and help with varicose veins.

Eat good food

When you wake up, start your day with a glass of water at room temperature spritzed with half a lemon. It is a great source of vitamin C and helps cleanse your body from within. Additionally, it helps stimulate the production of bile which is an important step in detoxification.

After you are done with your morning ablutions, you must have a healthy breakfast rich in protein. Always keep healthy snacks handy for the times you feel hungry in between meals. Eating small meals throughout the day keeps your metabolism fired up and helps you maintain a healthy body weight.

If you are not sure what to eat and how to follow a proper diet, then you can take help from a Recommended Naturopath Clinic In Melbourne to determine a diet plan that works best for you.

Exercise

If you have a sedentary lifestyle, then you must get up from your desk after every hour throughout the day, even if it is for a minute. This will help stimulate your blood circulation and protect your lymph from stagnating. If possible, try walking or stretching for a few minutes. You can also jog on the spot or do desk yoga.

Maintain a health journal

You must make a habit of making the following entries in your health journal every day. You can be descriptive or brief as per your preference.

  • Diet: Make a note of all the foods and drinks you had all day
  • Symptoms: Write about any discomfort you felt during the day, such as stomach ache, fatigue, headache, constipation etc.
  • Emotions: If you were irritable or happy, note that down
  • Keep your bedroom for sleeping only

Good sleep is important for your health. It is when your body enters the self-healing mode. You can start by discarding all clutter around your bed. You should have no screens, tablets, TV etc. in your bedroom. If you also use your bedroom as an office, then you must separate your work area from the sleeping area.

Make sure your bedroom is completely dark. According to studies, women who sleep in complete darkness experience better hormonal balance. Avoid the use of nightlights too.

    Deep breathing exercise

When you are in bed, try to deep breathe from your left nostril while holding the right one. Hold your breath for seven seconds or as long as you can, then exhale from the right nostril for eight seconds. Repeat this 10 times on both sides.

Take in a breath through the right nostril for a count of four, hold it for seven seconds, and release it through the left nostril for eight seconds. Repeat 10 times.

Remember, if these tips don't help you in improving the quality of your life, don't hesitate to take help from an expert naturopath who is trained and experienced to help you self-heal with tips and medications.
