Mirror Dragon Weekly Reading #1 2020

The Center card this week is the 3 of Cups.

This three symbolizes friendship, connection, comfort and the abundance we find in enjoying the good things we have in our lives from the simplest glimpse of a bright star, on an otherwise cloudy night to the kiss of a puppy with a warm wet tongue or the brilliance of pride in a child’s first steps, we are acutely aware of the beauty and bounty that surrounds us. When we revel in the pleasure of easy conversation, and the comfortable closeness of an old friendship or a strong emotional bond we find a matching comfort in the freedom to just be ourselves. I read once that a friend who sees you in distress says, “I feel for you” a good friend sees you in distress and asks, “is there anything I can do for you?” and a best friend sees clearly what’s going on and says, “stay down, I got this!” With this three at the center we have that feeling of camaraderie we experience when we know there's someone who’s got our back and the strength to know we can be that best friend if the need arises.

The West card is the 8 of Wands.

“With the speed of light” is a good mantra for this card. We’re still under the influence of last week’s Chariot energy and pieces are falling into place with swiftness and a demand for attention. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself completely wrapped up in the projects you’ve been involved in and feeling driven to get them finished. This is a perfect time to welcome the cooperation of friends and colleagues and the influence of the three at the center makes it easier for us to see and welcome the input of others. There’s a feeling of teamwork this week that makes all our efforts seem to flow easily, quickly and to a successful conclusion. Some possible stumbling blocks that could pop up might be conflict with long standing commitments that, perhaps, have fulfilled their purpose but refuse to move on. Rules that have passed their effective date or folks who’ve been comfortable riding the coattails of those who are actually contributing to the work required. Letting go of extraneous extra weight and restriction will ease the work it could take to overcome the things that might get in the way of our desire to complete what we've started. This is also a good energy in which to look for new jobs or new paths but beware indecision, things move too quickly with the 8 of Wands to dawdle.

The East card is the Princess of Pentacles.

With the innocence inherent in the youngest of the court cards, the princesses find their strength in their lack of preconceived ideas, judgement or expectations. They begin the path of their suit un-jaded and open to new experiences. I see this princess as pregnant. To me she seems filled with new resources and opportunities and in her we see the beginning of the path of Earth-sourced assets. Buoyed by the speed of the week and the feeling of comfort found in friendship we find ourselves not only open to new opportunities but anxious to dive right in and work with them. Energy is high, time seems to become available where there was none and money finds ways to either stretch to fit the need or pop up from unexpected sources. Remember you are worth it and take the support as it comes.

In conclusion;

This week will be dynamic. Whether it feels like a brilliantly inventive and productive time full of new experiences or an out of control thrill ride will likely depend on our acceptance of the fast moving changes we face. The energy of the week will also include friendship and cooperation and to the degree that we can accept and implement help from the outside, we will be able to complete more than we ever thought possible. Try to let go of old systems, rules and constraints to allow your new resources to carry you forward, honor your determination to get things done and save some time to enjoy the productivity of the week. What a good start for the new decade.
