Reading for 1-20 thru 1-26-20

The Center card for the week is the Prince of Pentacles.

With the determination and stubborn focus of this Prince we find the energy to dig in and make definitive declarations about what we want, what we need and how we’ve decided to go about getting it. The drive to get moving sets us in the position of the way clearer, like a bulldozer moving ahead without regard to any obstacles we might meet along the way. If the position we find ourselves in is one of breaking out of a shell of old feelings of responsibility or duty or even guilt this headstrong determination is the best thing we could ask for and likely necessary to get going in the direction we choose. If, however, it's because we feel snubbed or jealousy has reared its ugly green head there can be a need for discretion that might be missed in the fervor of plowing ahead, and this could lead to misunderstandings or out and out blow ups that really don’t need to happen. Though the desire to get going will likely be strong, an intentional slow down to have the chance to get in touch with the deeper reasons for the movement could go a long way in removing obstacles before they become walls to break through.

The West card is the 10 of Swords.

*Sigh. This is one of the cards I always want to shove back into the deck and redraw. On the negative side, this ten represents the pinnacle of unfeeling thought. When we look at the Swords as the weapon of the mind they’re a symbol of destructive cognition. Reason vs Knowing with the heart completely detached. Think Spock on Star Trek, logic is fine but without compassion, the humanity which should be part of the reasoning process is missing. Climbing the ladder of success on the backs of others without concern for their welfare happens here. On the positive side, at the height of cognition the idea of rulers, experts or gurus doesn’t exist. With pure recognition and understanding the need for directions, leaders or followers goes away. Given that we were dealing with the ten of Cups last week it seems the pendulum has swung fully back from heart to mind. The good news is we’ve transitioned from having our heart full to the brim with the need to change to having the unencumbered knowledge about how to go about it without getting too waylaid by emotion.

The East card is the Princess of Cups.

In this card we find an innocent opening of the heart. Whether, during the week, we succeed in breaking out of a shell, finding the inner strength to openly feel emotions we’ve been keeping hidden or finally banishing feelings of shame, regret or self loathing we’re now able to allow the feelings to come up and be experienced. As we emerge from the rumble of determination and razor sharp focus of a clear left-brain intellect we come away with a feeling of strength and safety grounded enough that we feel able to face emotions with a kindness towards Self and in that atmosphere we’re more apt to forgive and let go than usual.

In conclusion;

This looks like it could be a rough and tumble week combining a headstrong determination to break through barriers with pure intellect that sets aside emotion as not part of the decision making process. The saving grace for all of it ends in the Princess of Cups as we find ourselves stronger and wiser for having engaged in (and been successful with) a battle of wills and/or restrictive structure (pure logic). As a little side benefit of this reawakening of courage and strength when dealing with emotions, our empathic and intuitive abilities open and we become more intensely aware of the truth that resides in that little voice in the back of our minds. We become more in tune with our own psychic connections.

Have a definitive week!

Light,

Tory

TIP for the week: Never make snow angels in a dog park.
