The Center card this week is the Princess of Wands.

I see the princesses of the Tarot as innocent, open to new ideas and experiences. As the youngest of the court cards they begin the experiential journey of their suit as a blank canvas, ready to be painted by their encounters, challenges, triumphs and lessons. Perhaps through shedding the costumes of expected behavior and response under the energy of the Hermit from last week we’ve been able to see more clearly our own creative, daring and different ideas about where to place our energy and focus. This princess is full of the fire of her own ideas. She’s hands-on, determined and ferociously devoted to testing out her new plans. Admittedly she’s uninitiated, inexperienced and untrained but that’s where her passion shines. What she lacks in experience she more than makes up for with focus, prescience and intuition. Although we often don’t like to do things differently, there are times when we need to break boundaries and stagnant rules and try new things. This princess is your race car driver for this change in direction. She has a tendency to leap before she looks -she hasn’t run into problems before, she’s too new- but she breaks through more barriers than she allows to stop her. This week will likely be one full of new ideas and the passion to go after them.

The West card is the 7 of Wands.

As the week begins we feel strongly that the changes we’ve made recently were honorable and necessary. Having spent time finding the truest and most intimate bits of our own integrity we’re ready now to stand up for our plans and choices without the fear of other folks’ viewpoints or intentions getting in our way. We’re now able to see reality through the filter of our own integrity and know the most honorable course to take. One caveat here; often at times when we feel clearly in-the-right we have a tendency to see ourselves as superior. Yes. we can see that we’re acting in the most chivalrous way but this does not necessarily mean those we’re dealing with are not. The old saw “discretion is the better part of valor” is appropriate here. Not everyone has found the truth within themselves, there are many out there who are still acting only to please others. On the other hand, There are as many truths out there as there are folks to discover them. Be true to your own and let others be true to theirs.

The East card is the Hanged Man.

Now that we can see things through the clarifying lens of our own honor, it’s natural that they look different than before. The Hanged Man is a perfect example of our new perspective. It’s also one of those cards that people don’t like to see. I personally enjoy seeing him come up for me because it reminds me to look for undercurrents and back channels that aren’t obvious. Especially now when we’re feeling courageous about our new thoughts and ideas, we’re apt to see things differently anyway. The image on this card is of a man suspended upside down by one ankle. Hanging suspended by one ankle is nobody’s idea of comfortable. However, when we find ourselves flipped upside down in a given situation it gives us the chance to see things from a very different perspective. From this place of seeing things so very differently it becomes obvious that change is inevitable. We can’t un-know what we’ve seen and we are different now as a result. So, how do we reconcile the inevitability of change. From the point of each shift we experience in this life we are in a moment of rebirth. When we can see change as renewal, even when there is loss involved, it allows us to see beyond whatever strong emotions come up. A shift in perspective can give us a moment to breathe and come back to ourselves.

In conclusion;

This looks like a week of dynamic new ideas, passionate determined energy and a recognition of a path more suited to our sense of integrity. The path ahead looks different. New. And in this reawakened state of clarity we see that our lives can, and maybe need, to change. How can things not change when we drop the illusions, veils and masks we’ve been hiding behind? Allow the gravity of this recognition to give you perspective. Even though it may seem that you’re hanging, reversed, suspended and wholly outside your safety zone, let it be enlightening. Our sense of integrity is at a high point and the spitfire energy of the Wands has our ingenuity cranking. We can make things new, exciting and revealing this week.

Have a brand New week. Light, Tory
