Reading for 10-7 thru 10-13-19

The Center card this week is the 8 of Cups.

So, once again we have a holdover from last week popping up this week to press the point. The eight of Cups was the East card last week and now takes centerstage so, again, I will copy and paste last week’s info on the eight as well as the intuited bit this week.

*from 9-30 thru 10-6-19*

This eight shows how we can get caught up and mired in our feelings. For folks who are new to the awareness of intuition and empathy, the experience can be very confusing. Honestly it can be pretty confusing to those of us who’ve been doing it a while too. When we encounter an empathic connection with someone else it feels a lot like the emotions and feelings originate within ourselves. As we gain experience and consciously work with our ability to sense the feelings of others the recognition of subtle shifts in emotion becomes clearer. What I’m trying to get across is that the feelings we find ourselves getting stuck in this week may not even be our own. Yes, some undoubtedly are but see if you can eke out a bit of time, when you find yourself feeling mired in emotional muck, to get in touch with your inner self. Take 20 minutes to ground, center and clear away the clutter of whirling emotions. Even just sitting quietly to do some deep breathing can help us feel more like ourselves and if you can carve out some ME time, meditate, just sit and listen to music or go for a walk to shake out the stresses and let them go it will help get you feeling clearer and more in touch with your own knowing.

The eights of the Tarot signify times of reflection and re-evaluation. We progress through the prior seven stages building, learning, tripping and triumphing so by the time we get to the eight we have a pretty good grasp of what’s needed, what isn’t and how we choose to handle a given situation. After the last couple of weeks dealing with tough, tangly communications, this card seems quite appropriate at the center here. As the Cups denote our emotional selves, this eight shows that the toll taken on our feelings and personal connections has been heavy. In battling to present, justify or defend our intentions and plans we’ve tapped deeply into our reserves of patience and cooperation and we’ve worked hard to strengthen our ability to voice those desires so that they’re heard. Whether they were understood or accepted is another area we’ve needed to tackle where the need for diligence and tact has been high. Feeling emotionally drained this week is to be expected. This can be a good time for meditation. Whether you do a deep, trance-like transcendental journey, take a walk in the woods, get lost in your favorite music, tie yourself into yoga knots or just give yourself a break to blank out, any of those things can help to rejuvenate your energy. If, during this self-time, you can take a good, honest look at what’s making you feel so down, all the better.

The West card is the Lovers.

This is the card of true partnership. It represents our ability to accept and love in a way that allows us to communicate at every possible level. As we look into ourselves to find the clarity and understanding of the person we are, the more honest we can be—just with ourselves—the stronger and more compassionate our sense of outward partnership will be. Although it’s been said many times by many people, my father was the first to tell me that in order to love another person you must first love yourself. It is that knowledge that I see as true Partnership. If we can come to a place within where what we know of our Self is honest and real, then we no longer need to try and fill the empty spots of ourselves with the opinions, desires or demands of others. It’s when we try to become what’s wanted rather than who we are that we create the separations and walls that cost precious energy to maintain and defend. Now is the time to embrace, honor and love the Self. A lot of healing can be done in that space.

The East card is the 3 of Pentacles.

By weeks end we will likely be feeling recharged, clearer in mind and emotion and ready to take on the work that remains to be done as well as the new options that have come up recently. This three speaks of things working well and things “in the works.” Look for details to begin falling into place and new opportunities opening up. To the degree that we can clear the air from the discord, confusion or embattled feelings of recent weeks, we will have that many more new choices to make. We drop back from the energy of the eight having decided what deserves our attention to the simpler energy of the three where we once again see just what needs to be done with the issues we’ve narrowed down as the important next steps. Try not to be afraid to let go of the things that didn’t work out as planned, you’ll have a lot more time and vigor to work on those that did.

In Conclusion;

While we do spend a good part of the week feeling zapped by all the energy we’ve put into strategies and maneuvers of late, we also have a great chance to use the “tired” feelings to spend some dedicated self-time. Take that walk or that break to veg out or that meditation time and get reacquainted with your Self. Perhaps take a bit of time to think of something you see as a symbol of your strength, beauty, wisdom and talent and make it real. By that I mean, see if you can come up with a concept or view of what you like about yourself and create some physical representation of that image. As an example, the image that I hold for myself is of a pearl. I see it as my beautiful pearl of wisdom and intentionally have some form of pearl with or near me to remind myself of the inner beauty and wisdom I carry inside. I have a friend who sees a multicolored feather and another who “carries a song” in his heart. We all need a reminder of our worth sometimes.

Have a rejuvenating week!

Light,

Tory

Tip for the week: Did you know? The word tip as we use it today is a slang term that is first found in use around 1600, and the first recognition of its use as giving a gratuity was in 1706. Appreciated then and now.
