Reading for 8-10 thru 8-16-20

This week looks like one of gratitude, acceptance, compassion and release. With The Empress, Death and the Sword of Truth --the Ace of Swords-- we find ourselves in a unique position. One where we realize there are some things, no matter how familiar, how dear or how woven into the fabric of our lives, that no longer contribute to our happiness, comfort, sense of self or ability to embrace who we are at the depths of our being. This is a week of gentle honesty with ourselves in which we can see what needs to be released for us to regain a positive sense of self. We also see a determined honesty that allows us to speak our minds in a way that’s simple, direct, and understanding of those who will be impacted by our decisions. Though the Ace of Swords often urges us to use its sharp edges to make a point, the Empress adds the compassion needed to be honest without anger or retribution in mind allowing understanding to soften the edges and still make the point.

The Center card this week is The Empress.

As the Emperor is the card of masculinity; action dedication, implementation, etc, the Empress is the symbol of the Divine Feminine. In her we find a heart connection and the empathy to recognize how our actions impact those around us, in the moment, in the family dynamic and even in the energy of the planet. In this way we’re able to see the compassion necessary to create harmony out of discord, to integrate understanding with implementation. The Empress nurtures. She sees the needs and desires in a situation without judgement and accepts the seemingly impossible reality that, using compassion, disparate energies can reach a harmony.

The West card is the Ace of Swords.

The Swords align with the air element and represent our cognitive thought. They show our ability to make sense of experiences and put them in context with whatever situation they’re part of. They’re our language, memory, comparative recognition and the framework within which our emotions, desires and resources find the continuity to interact. With our talented minds we seek to weave the experiences we have into the framework of relative understanding. The Aces of each suit represent the energy of that suit in its purest form and the Ace in this suit is a representation of thought, mind, correlation and connection at their clearest and most true. Pure thought, pure truth without the interference of other human attributes. Like Mr. Spock in Star Trec, reason in the absence of emotion, this is a basis, a core, a place from which to grow. This card, with regard to the others in this reading, allows us to see the core truth of what the Death card asks us to release.

The East card is Death.

This Major Arcana card is about cycles. It looks life in the eye and sees it from beginning to end and all that’s in between. As we live in every moment, so do we die. We are not stagnant beings, from the entirety of our human experience to the tiniest bit of DNA we are in flow at all times. Consider the dragonfly. It begins its life as an egg, hatches into a nymph and then transforms into a fully formed dragonfly. At each stage part of the creature dies and is transformed. For the dragonfly to take flight, the egg must break, the nymph must die. This is the way I see the Death card. As it pertains to this week, the Ace of Swords shows us the truth of what we’re living, the Empress gives us the compassion to accept the changes and release what Death shows us is necessary for growth and happiness.

In Conclusion;

This week we look with compassion and acceptance at what no longer works in our lives and is ready to be shed as we transform. Like the snake shedding its skin, the old skin is no longer smooth and supple. It’s scratchy, dry and just does not fit. So we shed it to find a new skin underneath moist, flexible and glowing with potential. A good thing this week is that the Ace of Swords allows us to see very clearly what needs to happen. With the influence of the understanding Empress we can accept our new selves with love and move forward with the clarity and pure honesty of the Ace of Swords.

Have a vibrant week.

Light, Tory

TIP for the week: Love that does not renew itself moment to moment becomes a habit and in turn a slavery. Every moment is a renewal. Each time we exhale a world ends; when we inhale there can be, when we allow it, a rebirth and renewal of love and spirit.
