Reading for 6-8 thru 6-14-20

The Center card this week is the 4 of Cups.

It seems that this week we are riding the waves of deep emotions, so much so that they could become a real distraction from our daily lives. As with all the fours, this one signals a time for reevaluation and reconnection with the Inner Self. When we’re given a gap in the “normal” flow of life to take a step back to try to see the bigger picture I think it’s important to take that chance, to put on the breaks and look. The suit of Cups gives us a clue as to where to explore to find who we are and where we stand emotionally in any given situation and how best to respond. We’re likely going to feel all the feels during the week and taking any opportunity to step away will allow us to regroup and decide whether we’re acting out of a particular emotion and, more importantly, whether we want to be. Introspection is the key. It’s likely we will be drawn even compelled to delve deep into our feelings and this is a great chance to renew the connection with our own truth. We’re going to be feeling everything this week with our emotions up front and center. So the need for introspection will be obvious and inviting. With a strong sense of the need for emotional self preservation we can use the time we grab for ourselves to consider what needs to be done to either stay aligned or realign with that inner truth. Try to find the time, even though life demands so much, to give yourself a chance to think and feel. When we avoid looking within we cheat ourselves of the beauty and integrity of self expression. Even if the Big feels are anger, fear, sorrow or confusion embracing them as part of the whole of us heals the tears and bruises. On the other hand, if the Big feels are joy, love, excitement or expectation embrace and accept them too. Pull in that wholeness and integration, embrace all of You. When we can do that the connection we feel and express with the world grows exponentially.

The West card is the Princess of Cups.

We seem to be working with youthful energies as of late with the princes and princesses popping up weekly. Here again we deal with the Cups. This princess is courageous in her innocence. She is a symbol of the purity of the emotions we feel before they’re tweaked, shifted, molded or tainted with the desire to fit in, conform, to be accepted. The good news is we’re at a point now when we’re ready to start fresh with our emotions and the different kinds of connections to be had. We’re ready for a newness, a change, a reawakening of innocence. In this case I don’t use the term innocence to mean virginal. I mean it to reflect the innocence found in accepting and embracing emotions that we feel deeply as valid. We are not bad or wrong for honest feelings. It’s when we begin to compare ourselves with others (and remember we can only compare what we see or think of others, not necessarily their true feelings) that we lose the purity of our own emotional truth. The fearlessness of this princess is like that of a child. There are times when it seems children defy physics. The child who walks easily across the top of a fence because she doesn’t know about gravity. With fear and tension missing there is no reason she can see why walking to the end of the fence should be scary. If we can bring ourselves back to the courage found in that innocence of true emotion, there should be no fear in having the feelings we have.

The East card is the Aeon.

This is one of the cards that isn’t found in the RWS based decks. Though there is some correlation with the Judgement card in that system I find its symbolism brings a differing sense of the general meaning. While Judgement Day, as in the RWS depictions, leaves me with a sense of a connection with dogma and strict, rigid adherence to set rules (commandments), the Aeon card brings to my mind an awareness of the growth, transformation and transcendence in every moment of life. With its appearance in the reading for this week it tells me that with all the emotional tumult and change we are experiencing, we’re being given a unique opportunity to experience the newness and beginnings in every single moment, every single experience and every single connection. In light of the high emotions we’ve all been whirling in, I love the reminder of The Aeon to be present in every moment and to realize that the next moment will also be new and the next and the next…

In conclusion;

A good question for the week is, What do I feel about this? What do I really feel? This may not be the happiest week with anger, pain, fear or feelings of betrayal or it may be happiest week with feelings of love, amazement, joy, inclusion and grace blooming in abundance. Whatever the situations we face, know that all of our emotions are high and interactions, reactions, communications and moods, good and not so good, are likely to be right in our faces. Use the time off or, perhaps, the timeout triggered by high emotions to take some time to breathe, think and reevaluate. Step away, look at the broader aspects of the details you may be dealing with and find the reality of your own feelings about things. There is innocence in truth and strength in embracing that innocence.

Have a passionate week.
