Reading for 7-6 thru 7-12-20

This week we have the Knight of Pentacles augmented by the 10 of Wands and the 6 of Pentacles. Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been dealing with our fiery creative side and letting our passions guide us. That fire has been terrific at opening our eyes to new ways of doing things and new options. As a result of stepping out of the familiar and comforting “normal” we’ve been able to see that when our response to why are you doing it that way? is “it’s always been done that way” is not completely true or effective anymore. We’ve stirred things up and now we settle in to get down to the nuts and bolts of making our new systems align with our day to day interactions and projects.

The Center card is the Knight of Pentacles.

The knights of each suit hold the most varied intricate knowledge of the court cards in that suit. They’ve been through the excitement of recognizing the aspects of the Earth element, the learning phase, the times of practice and hit or miss, and the experience of implementation and management. Now he has the self assurance to lead by example and the wisdom to know when to push and when to step away to allow others to have the experience they need. With this Knight at the center we find ourselves feeling confident with the choices we’ve made and though we may face the need to defend those choices there’s not much likelihood that we’ll feel that we’ve made the wrong decisions.

The West card is the 10 of Wands.

This 10 shows us what happens when we depend too much on what other people tell us we should do or who we should be. If our own wisdom and revelations fall short of their expectations we often fall into the trap of doubting what feels right in favor of not rocking the boat or upsetting the apple cart. Each person and each scenario possesses its own will and we work best when we find a balance that includes as much of our own will as that of others. Since we have opened up creative new ways to do things and refresh those that have become stale, we’ve probably also been dealing with folks that aren’t changing in the same direction or at the same speed and don’t plan to, hence the desire to defend decisions. The good news is that this is the west card and so represents what we’re finishing up with and the experience we’ve gained.

The East card is the 6 of Pentacles.

This is a terrific card to balance out the week with. Once again we have a card in the suit of Pentacles. Representing our resources; time, energy, money and our physical bodies, the Pentacles give us grounding, practical focused energy. With this six we discover that the old saying “it takes money to make money” makes a lot of sense. We receive what we give and the magic here is the realization that there is a flow to the energy and a continuity of give and take that confirms that anxiety about waste can be extremely counterproductive. The idea of wasting time, wasting money, wasting energy has the power to knock us back before we even get started. With this six we feel the pleasure found in putting in the time, giving the energy and spending whatever is needed to be successful.

In conclusion;

Once we’ve untangled any misunderstandings, put out the flames of the pyres we built for old, outdated processes and habits we feel the strength and stability to get to work. The desire to get things done and the rewards we receive for the work we put in are both high points for the week. We may feel exhausted by the end of the day but the work we’ve done is good, productive work and the folks around us recognize that. The effort expended is appreciated.

Have a fruitful week!

Light, Tory

TIP for the week: The applause of a single human being is of great consequence. Samuel Johnson (1791)
