Beach sounds to relax

In today's world, it is important to take a break and learn these techniques to relax your body and mind. This can be done anywhere, which I like. Just remember if you are at work in a presentation just make sure you are not the one giving it or having a test on it after.

Another place you do not want to do this meditation is in the car. I know it is going to be difficult when you are stopped at a really long stoplight, but you must resist.

The best place to do the meditation is lying down in your room or you can be on the beach, at the pool, again not in the pool unless you can float on your back. Sometimes I do this when I am on my back in the pool floating and I just block out the world for a few minutes.

As I am in the pool I lean back and start floating on my back. I close my eyes and then I listen to the water move around me. As I listen to the sound of the water I let my body connect to the liquid around me, and feel at one with it. My heart starts to slow down. My breathing matches the movement of the waves and I relax.

My meditation at the pool

After I teach you the main technique you will be able to do the steps anywhere, just be safe in your choice. For your first go around pick a place that is quiet and that you can have complete comfort.

Santa Cruz Pier

For this meditation, I will guide you through a beach scene. Sit on the beach then put your back and whole body on the sand. Feel the coolness of the sand underneath your body. Start with your hands. Pick up some of the sand and move it between your fingers, at the same time move the sand through your toes. feel the moist squishy feeling of it, notice as the texture of the sand becomes more coarse as it dries, Pick up some fresh moist sand again move it around in your hand. Put your hand into the sand and leave it buried in the hole connecting you to the earth. With your toes do the same thing until your feet are covered in the sand. Connected to the energy from the earth makes it easier to move the current through your body and gain the electricity for your mood.

connection to the earth through the sand

Close your eyes and concentrate on the sound of the waves hitting the beach then pulling the water back out into the ocean. Hear this sound as you feel the connection to the sand. The repetition of the sound relaxes your mind and as your mind relaxes you feel your body start to release. First, you feel your neck to relax and all the tension leaves out your fingers with the flow of energy. Then your shoulders loosen, followed by your back, your jaw on your face softens, while your stomach releases all tension it moves down your legs out your toes. You now are feeling totally relaxed.

This technique can be memorized and become a goto for when you are stressed and need to relax. For me, my mind pictures myself lying at the beach with the sun shining down. I then take myself through the process of feeling the sand on my feet and hands. I can feel the cool breeze on my skin and I take myself through the steps automatically. As you practice you will be able to do the process in seconds.

Enjoy the relaxation.
