Life expectancy is related to weight?

The study found: that after 60 years old, such a body type of elderly people live longer

The development of medicine has expanded the width of life so that people are no longer subject to disease, yet many people still care about the length of life and cling to the proposition of longevity.

In fact, throughout history, there has been an endless stream of people pursuing longevity. There is nothing wrong with human beings' thirst for longevity, only that they must follow science and achieve the goal of extending their lives in the right way.

With the depth of scientific research, people gradually found that the key to longevity may lie in weight, but also reveals the relationship between weight and longevity.

First, human life expectancy is linked to weight.

There are many different influences on human growth, and there are many unique traits, but weight seems to be very mundane, yet research has found that weight may be linked to longevity.

Through a large sample of European scientists, the study found that weight and mortality showed a "U-shaped curve" in the data.

In this U-shaped curve, the lowest mortality rate corresponds to the weight data at the lowest point, which changes with age, and the scientists also analyzed and came to two major conclusions: the longest life below the standard weight of 60 years old and the heavier weight over 60 years old!

So what is standard weight and what is overweight weight? According to the BMI body mass index division issued by the World Health Organization, a BMI value between 18.5-24.9 is the normal standard and a BMI value between 25-29.9 is overweight.

The study also found that after the age of 60, overweight people have a 6% lower mortality rate than those of normal weight. Experts say this may be after age 60, moving into old age still overweight people tend to be better nutritional intake.

And with the increased risk of chronic disease, the body, and disease "pull" will consume more energy and moderate overweight helps fight disease.

The "old man is too old to be thin", is there any truth to this saying?

The elderly overweight longer life? This conclusion breaks a law of life that has been handed down by the people - "it is hard to buy a thin old man", many people think that the thinner the old man is, the longer he lives, which is a misconception.

The phrase "a thousand pieces of gold can't buy you a thin old man" has been handed down from ancient times, when China had Chinese medicine, but the mysteries of weight and longevity and the inner workings of the human body were still at a relatively superficial stage.

Therefore, this statement lacks the support of actual scientific theories, not to mention that the saying itself is handed down from folklore, not from medical texts, so it lacks credibility.

On the contrary, modern medical research through theory and data and large-scale survey concluded that "slightly fat is more conducive to longevity", more credible.

Body Mass Index (BMI), a weight standard published by the WHO, is calculated by dividing weight in kilograms by the square of height in meters.

It is more reasonable to combine weight and height to determine how fat or thin a person is.

Third, no deliberate weight loss but weight loss, beware of these 5 diseases

Contemporary society to thin for beauty, and many people are very concerned about their weight, but sometimes suddenly being thin is not necessarily good, may also be related to the disease.

1, gastrointestinal disease

If suffering from chronic gastrointestinal diseases, such as gastritis, enteritis, Crohn's disease, etc., the long-term gastrointestinal function is reduced, digestion and absorption capacity are insufficient, nutrients can not be absorbed into the body, and it will gradually lose weight.

2, hyperthyroidism

Patients with hyperthyroidism secrete too much thyroid hormone, resulting in the body's nervous and digestive systems being too hyperactive, the same situation consumes more nutrients, so there are often strange symptoms of eating more but losing weight.

3、Diabetes

The appearance of diabetes means that the insulin in the patient's body is insufficient, and the sugar in the blood cannot be converted into energy in time, so the body's mechanism will self-regulate and supply energy through fat metabolism, and the consumption of fat may cause wasting.

4, malignant tumor

The rapid growth of the tumors is achieved by taking the nutrition of normal cells, and the lack of nutrition of normal cells will naturally cause the patient to lose weight in a short time, and a 10% weight loss within 6 months must be alert.

In addition, with the development of the tumor process, necrosis and toxins of cancer tissues will also trigger anorexia, together with cachexia, most cancer patients in the middle and late stages will show symptoms of malnutrition and excessive wasting, and some patients even have body wasting as the first symptom, especially for gastrointestinal and related organ malignant tumors.

5、Mental illness (anorexia nervosa)

Patients suffering from mental illness, who are emotionally unstable, may neglect their diet due to anxiety and depression, causing the symptoms of wasting. Some people will also suffer from anorexia due to excessive dieting, hunger strikes, etc. Because they cannot eat, there is no nutritional supply and they will naturally lose weight.

Chronic diseases of the liver and kidneys, tuberculosis, gastrointestinal diseases, oral diseases, etc. can also cause the body to lose weight when severe, as well as poor diet. Many factors affect a person's weight, so if you find yourself inexplicably losing weight and weight loss, you must first discharge the disease factor.

Weight is the most intuitive external reaction of a person, but few people associate it with health and longevity, not knowing that it is the hidden element behind longevity. I hope you can think correctly about the relationship between weight and beauty, and do not ignore health because of the public aesthetics.
