Lessons of a Millennial's Awakening

Key Lessons in Life

There are many things one can learn throughout their lifetime. Yet, in my personal experience, nothing quite prepares you for life like the lessons you learn from awakening. I myself awakened as a child. I have learned lessons that have saved me a lot of drama in my life. I have seen my friends and family go through things that I am glad that I do not have to go through. Now, I still had to go through the daily life stuff everyone has to go through, such as work and school. I found that I understood how to navigate certain situations in life a bit better, however.

One of the most important lessons anyone can learn is to think for yourself. If you are not afraid to question things and think outside the box, you will learn far more than those who don't. The best part of it is in today's world of chaos, you will be able to think more clearly instead of getting caught up in the confusion of the day.

Thinking for yourself leads to understanding the importance of being yourself and accepting all parts of who you are. In this world, many people discourage authenticity if it goes against the grain. The thing is, you can't be someone you are not. That will only bring you more pain in the long run. Trust me. Many people will likely be able to tell if you are pretending and may like you less. It can be hard, but nothing is more important than self love. I've noticed that because so much of our childhood is centered around going to school and competing for college and jobs against your peers, most people don't focus on getting to know themselves. The problem becomes that they've become adults and, in addition to dealing with jobs and bills, they have personal issues and self worth issues that lead to bad decisions. This lack of self-esteem leads to bad relationships with other people due to jealousy of others or accepting partners that treat them badly because they feel no one else will want them. They may try to be someone they're not to impress people who really aren't their friends. The most important thing you can have in life is self love and self worth.

Isolation is a key thing that many experience during awakenings. You begin to look at life differently and people may not understand. This isolates you from friends and family. Although this can be disheartening, the important thing to understand is the lessons of isolation. Isolation has taught me to value people who allow me to be myself and accept that being different is a good thing. It has taught me the value of having good friends and how to be one as well. Sometimes, in this world, people take people for granted or they allow jealousy to destroy good relationships with lovers, family, and friends. People will betray their closest friends and family over money or possession of material things. Isolation has taught me the importance of compassion towards others. When you understand what it's like to feel alone and rejected by society, you should learn this lesson. Now, not everyone does. Some people become bitter, but the challenge is to learn to be better in the face of hardship. This makes a stronger person in terms of character.

Perhaps the most humbling realization of all is the more you know, the more you realize you don't know. Always be a life long learner. This is the key to being amongst the wisest of people.

I have learned all these lessons and more. These are just some of the most important lessons I learned. They can be applied to anyone's life awakening or not. I hope this will give them a more positive outlook on life and help them learn something.
