For better or for worse , junk food has gone global and is now available all over the world. According to one study, snacking is a common practice that continues throughout the day in the United States.

Foods high in salt or sugar content, having minimal nutrients such as fibre, vitamins and minerals are categorized as junk food because they can negatively impact your body.

Junk food, also known as discretionary food, are low in satiation value -- that is, they don't give you feelings of fullness when you eat them .

junk food is used as an alternative to more nutritious foods. For example, when people drink lots of soda they are usually turning away from plenty of low-fat dairy or other nourishing beverages like green tea or orange juice. They usually miss fruits and vegetables when they munch on chips and cookies.

Junk food list to avoid for weight loss

Top junk foods to avoid are, pizza, burgers, and fries. These foods are loaded with trans fat and have bad cholesterol which is the cause of heart ailments and obesity. Trans-fat gives zero health benefits and gets stored within our bodies.

The buns and dough burgers and pizzas are heavily processed and are thus unhealthy to eat .Further, the oil used to cook fries is extremely unhealthy , particularly if ingested on regular basis.

Carbonated Beverages

Carbonated drinks are full of sugar and it is easy to become addicted to these beverages as they contain caffeine . They are the major cause of diabetes in America .

Moreover sugar in these carbonated drinks also causes damage to our teeth, leading to cavities and ill effects on your smile, also our liver converts extra sugar stored in our body into fats which leads to obesity and many fatal diseases.

Consumption of carbonated drinks may be associated with loss of bone strength in women.It is crucial to avoid drinking anything carbonated. Instead, opt for healthy drinks like fruit smoothies or tea.

Cookies, Pastries , and Cakes

These are generally comprised of refined wheat flour and refined sugar along with extra fats which are often severely unhealthy . These delicious treats are the worst thing you can put into your body as they contain little to no essential nutrients.

Everyone loves donuts because they are are satiating and delicious. However, they consist of white bread dough, whipped cream, and an abundance of sugar. There are about 500 calories in a 100g donuts and a quarter of its fat content is trans-fat which may result in obesity and fatal heart disease.

Ice Cream

Every one loves ice cream . Sadly, commercial ice cream is chock full of sugar. Each lick is nothing but an intake of empty calories which ice cream is high in .It's even worse to have ice cream for desert as you are then adding more calories on top of the ones you ate for dinner.

Potato Chips

Potato chips are ridden with saturated fats that are harmful for the arteries. When the arteries get clogged ,bad cholesterol may accumulate . There are 550 calories and 35g of fat in 100g bag of chips. Avoid this snack as it can damage your body and result in obesity .

Most highly processed foods

Stay away from processed food if you want to keep extra weight off and remain healthy. As a rule of thumb, be alert that if it appears to be made in a factory, it's likely bad for you.

Remember that a good food doesn't need an ingredients list because real food is the ingredient.
