Chakras and Colors

According to Indian belief, there are seven centers of spiritual power and the energy located in our bodies. These centers are the chakras.

Each chakra is connected to a specific area of the body, has a related color, properties, and rules different emotions.

The Seven Chakras Are:

  1. The Root Chakra, placed at the base of the spine, its color is red. This chakra represents our grounding and relationship with Earth’s energy. The healing stones connected to this chakra are the Fire Agate, the Bloodstone, and the Hematite.
  2. The Sacral Chakra, located 2 or 3 inches below the umbilicus, has as affiliated color orange. This second chakra is considered the mind-body one, and it is connected to the kidneys, the adrenals, and the reproduction system. Citrine, Coral, and Moonstone are the stones related to the second chakra.
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra, found between the navel and sternum, is the third chakra, and its color is yellow. Pancreas, liver, digestive system, and gallbladder are the organs connected with it. It’s believed to rule feelings like well-being, will, mental activities, intellect, positivity, and empowerment. Calcite, Malachite and Topaz are the healing stones related to the Solar Plexus Chakra.
  4. The Heart Chakra, ruled by green, is associated with the heart, lungs, and immune system. It also influences the nervous system, mental focus, compassion, and love. The stones of this chakra are Jade, Rose Quartz, and Green Tourmaline.
  5. The Throat Chakra is blue; it is connected to the thyroid and metabolism. Its energy impacts communication, expression of truth, and creativity. Aquamarine, Lapislazzuli, and Turquoise are the stone related to it.
  6. The Third Eye Chakra is located between the eyebrows, and indigo is the color associated with it. The sixth chakra is connected with the pituitary gland and pineal gland. It is correlated with our sleep cycle, inner wisdom, self-esteem, clarity, and intuition. To improve its power, you can use Amethyst, Black Obsidian, and Purple Fluorite.
  7. The Crown Chakra is violet, and it is positioned at the top of the head. The seventh chakra is associated with the pineal gland and our consciousness. It also connects us to the universe and spiritual energy. The healing stones linked to the last chakra are Diamond, Hyaline Quartz and Selenite.

Color Therapy in Everyday Life

The easiest way to absorb the energy you might need to balance your emotions is to look at a specific color. Simply as that.

You can also drink solarized water, take a color shower at the spa or wear healing stones, colorful clothes, or glasses with painted lenses.

Despite there being no scientific proof of the colors’ healing power, you should use colors carefully in your daily life.

Green is considered the safest color, while red and orange might cause hyperactivity and anxiety. Blue, indigo, and violet are calming and relaxing colors.

Wall Paint Color

Imagine yourself returning home after a long day of work, or maybe you work at home and need a place where you can stay focus and be productive right behind a super relaxing one.

You can create the perfect environment inside your home for every activity with just some paint and a little bit of effort.

Kitchen: the best color for this room is red.

Use red carefully because it has great stimulating power and can make the room look smaller. Red stimulates appetite and energy.

Appropriately used can help you create a warm and cozy environment.

Activity room: living room, dining room, and playroom can be painted with a warm color palette of oranges, yellows, and browns.

Orange is energizing and promote creativity and sociability.

Yellow stimulates mental activity and is also indicated for entry halls.

Bathroom: if your goal is to create a peaceful room where you can enjoy a relaxing bath, then blue and green are the perfect colors for your bathroom! Green is known to be the best healing color, depending on the shade, it can be used in almost every room.

Blue is one of the most relaxing and calming tones.

Light gray and creamy white are great solutions too.

If you have a small bathroom, use light colors, and play with different shades to make the room look bigger.

Bedroom: trouble sleeping? Paint your room with indigo or pale violet.

Indigo is the color of divine knowledge and higher mind, it also has a sedative power.

Violet is the color of the seventh chakra, located in the head; it will help you meditate and purify body and mind.

Study: in case you need to paint your home office, you can consider indigo as part of the decoration. Indigo is also great for treatment rooms.

Green can improve your concentration, blue will boost your productivity while yellow can increase your creativity and helps stay focus while studying or working.

Colors like white and black should be used carefully on their own.

White can be a little bit intimidating, even if it emphasizes purity and gives clarity of thoughts.

Black is perfect for reflection and inner searching; it also helps improve other colors’ energy when combined.

Clothes

What we wear define us, no matter we like it or not, what people see when they first meet us is our look.

It is essential to wear clothes we find comfortable and capable of expressing ourselves at their best. Believe it or not, people around us not only react to how we are dressed but also to the colors we wear.

Pink: this light color will make you look compassion and open to approach. Pink is usually related to young female children but it also suitable for both men and women.

Red: need to boost your self-esteem? Wear something red, but not too much or you might ending intimidating others.

White: synonymous with fresh and new beginnings, white also stands for purity and positive feelings.

Black: we wear black garments when we need protection, we don’t want to be seen but aim to keep a low profile.

Green: the healing color connects us to nature. It usually is the color of sensitive people or those who are ready for a significant change in life.

Blue: dark blue is usually related to authority, power, and respect, while light blue is more relaxed and fun. Wearing blue pajamas will help you sleep better.

Colors are all around us and they can influence our mood and emotions. Is important to understand the role they have in our daily life and use them for our benefit.

Time to choose the right color to improve your life and take your life experience to the next level!
