Before I talk about what you should do, let’s go over why.

It's so important to make sure you take good care of your body, mind, and soul every day, not just when you get sick. Learning how to eat right, reduce stress, exercise regularly, and take a time-out when you need it are touchstones of self-care and can help you stay healthy, happy, and resilient.

Now, time to have the best self-care day ever!

Go over things you wish you could do on a normal productive day. Try and fit it in your day!! Before you overdue, remember to relax if you just want to sleep and put on a face mask do it!

First,

Challenge yourself to do things you don’t usually do. Wake up earlier, go to sleep earlier, do things with no complaints or any hesitations.

Second,

Self-care day is the day where you should relax and have a day to yourself. Today is no complaints day, no doubts today, be happy and relax.

Third,

Give yourself credit for the things you’ve accomplished so far in life/this year/this month/last week, whichever you prefer. We tend to be hard on ourselves without realizing how far we’ve come.

Lastly,

Actually taking the time to think about/reflect on the past will make you aware of your progress. This may increase your happiness, your motivation, and your confidence.

So enough of the talking, lets have a ‘Mental Health Day’

Create a Schedule

The main requirement of a self care day is to ditch the scheduled appointments. Go through your events and meetings and find the perfect time to do mental health activities.

Relax and Mediate

The laundry can wait. Mow the garden tomorrow. Do not wash the dishes in the sink unless you truly enjoy washing dishes. Nope. This is a day for you. Do things such as Hot tea, light some candles, run a hot bath, take a nap, stretch, meditate.

Treat Yourself

I think the perfect self care day requires a little treat of some kind. Treating yourself means different things to different people, so do not think you need to be getting pedicures and eating dark chocolate. Do things such as reading your favorite book, watch netflix, swim in a pool.

Write down TO-DO list

Writing a general to-do list will help keep your day/week/month organized. There’s no way anyone can remember everything they need to do from school work to work tasks to home improvement projects. Writing a to-do list makes your life more manageable.

Journal

Journaling can help you interpret your feelings and get your creative juices flowing, both of which are great for your brain.

Take a break from social media

Mindlessly scrolling through Instagram honestly isn’t healthy. You become unaware of the time passing and typically none of the photos/stories you are scrolling through and liking are improving your life.

Go over things you wish you could do on a normal productive day. Try and fit it in your day!! Before you overdue, remember to relax if you just want to sleep and put on a face mask do it!
