Running, in its basic form, is putting one foot in front of the other with a lot more effort than walking.

Anyone who runs is a runner. It doesn't matter how far or how fast you run, as the saying goes 'a mile is a mile, whether you complete a 6-minute mile or a 12-minute mile'.
