The herb aloe vera is well known for its cooling, soothing and moisturising properties used in a majority of skin-care creams, deodorants, shower gels, shampoos, soaps and hair conditioners we tend to use on a daily basis.

The juice contains many vitamins, minerals and amino acids, making aloe vera the most effective cleansers around. It is great for women going through the menopause, for anti-inflammatory purposes, acne, rosacea and IBS. It is packed full of polysaccharides immune-boosting properties which is crucial for the very confusing times we are currently all living under, coronavirus.

Too much inflammation in the body can cause, asthma, eczema and Crohns disease. Whilst, aloe vera gel helps slow down the inflammation and get the ph balance back to alkaline levels within the body.

This herb is also good for treating diabetes and obesity by lowering the blood sugars and cholesterol levels. It is used for digestive problems like IBS because of its healing and soothing properties, which helps with its painful symptoms.

The aloe vera gel is packed full of vitamin A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and folic acid. It is also rich in minerals like calcium, manganese, zinc, iron, selenium and potassium. It's beneficial in strengthening hair, for burns and hydrates skin which enhances collagen and enzymes. Great for if you get sunburned, gastric-ulcers and heartburn.

This gel is incredible in being used for beauty regimes which are:

As a primer before you put on your foundation or moisturiser cream.

Make-up cleanser.

As a lightweight moisturiser.

Psoriasis on the scalp blended with a few drops of peppermint essential oils.

It is also excellent for use on strengthening hair follicles, dandruff and deep cleans oily hair by increasing the blood flow to the scalp. This herb has no abundance of secretive healing powers and even repairs damaged hair i.e makes the hair grow back faster and thicker. Although there are some people who may have an allergic reaction, so best to rub a little of the gel onto your inner wrists or behind your ear and wait for up to 2 hours. If you produce no allergic reaction then, the gel is safe for you to use. But if you experience allergic reactions then, it is not for you to use as everyone is uniquely different. The side effect, when used in large quantities is you may experience very unpleasant attack of diarrhoea.

It is available to buy from health food shops like Holland and Barret or forever living products or, from supermarket stores such as ocado. Or you could of course buy the herb itself from any garden centre, even B & Q or Homebase sells this plant by the large bulk you keep watering whenever it needs it and keep it moist to grow on your kitchen window seal, or where there is plenty of sunshine that can absorb indoors. It is an indoor plant so look after it and it will look after you for the rest of your lives.

Happy drinking and healing with this very common herb famous for its amazing healing powers, as explained in this article. The healing powers with this plant are endless and is very hardy, so loves being nurtured with plenty of water and sunlight. Pouring rainwater on it in large pots and buckets in your garden, makes it flourish even more but as mentioned before it is an indoor plant. Grown in topsoil in nice-looking large plant pots forever and will never die on you if you give it your tender loving care. It will then last you for life. It is what mother nature gave us, which is nothing more than perfection and everlasting most natural beauty you can ever come across.

Here is a recipe for the most natural skincare for all types of skin as an example how to use the amazing Aloe Vera gel.

WHIPPED ALOE VERA WITH SILKY SMOOTH SHEA BUTTER

This is a very simple plain-face cream to make. It can be customised by adding essential oils to make a therapeutic potion or scented balm. Shea butter is grown in West Africa, where it is traditionally gathered by women and is a renowned skin food and sun protector. The aloe vera gel just makes it more moisturising and prevents and cures sunburn.

INGREDIENTS

50g Fairtrade shea butter.

50g Fresh aloe vera gel.

3 1/2 - 6 1/2 tablespoons organic sweet almond oil.

30 drops of Neroli essential oil.

15 drops orange essential oil.

15 drops tangerine essential oil.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Pound the shea butter in a pestle and mortar until smooth.

2. Gradually add the essential oils, aloe vera gel and sweet almond oil in while mixing.

3. Stop mixing when it looks white and soft like silky smooth ice-cream.

4. At this point, whip with a manual mini-whisk to really fluff it up.

5. Using a palette knife, scrape the fluffy gloop into a sterilised jar, place the lid on and label.

HINT.

If stored in a jar in a dry dark cupboard, it will have a shelf life of 6 months and is suitable for all skin types. This moisturiser is great for very dry skin types too and has no parabens. So, you can't make a moisturiser as natural as this one and the blend of essential oils, makes this product smell divine. Good enough to eat, although I don't recommend for you to eat this, because it's clearly not edible. Happy soft silky smooth skin for body and face. A good all rounder for soft youthful-looking skin. No need to buy expensive moisturising creams from your local high street shops no more when, you can make your own for a fraction of the price.
