What natural remedies can you grow in your backyard?

When you think of the word "garden" what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Is it a bush of roses? Is it your grandma watering her plants? Truth be told, when I hear the word "garden" I think of these beautiful cottages that are in the United Kingdom. They're surrounded by beautiful green grass and vines, with wonderful blossoming flowers every where. They are truly in an inspiration to see.

Anyway, you're probably wondering why any of that matters? Well, that is because our view of nature has very serious consequences. Our planet provides quite a bit for us, and there is so little we actually utilize in a healthy manner. We don't practice caution and we don't care about our wastefulness. Those problems exist with very little effort to fix them.

Our planet can provide us more than just paper to write on. I think most people forget that. For example, aspirin was derived from willow bark and was discovered around 400 B.C.E. Our ancestors understood the benefits of utilizing nature around us for health reasons. Now aspirin is used regularly almost every where as an anti-inflammatory.

The Earth's gardens hold more than pretty flowers and chirping birds. They contain real medicine that have been forgotten about or just underappreciated. This cannot stand with the coming years. Harsh man made chemicals hold too many side effects, and there are plenty of plants that could get the job done with little to none.

This information is wildly important for families who may not have easily accessible pharmacies at their disposal. There are also natural remedies that can help relieve pain and increase the speed of recovery for burn injuries. Which may come in handy if emergency services are not readily available to you.

When I was first expressing my interest online there was quite a bit of unexpected comments on my posts. One which was "Wow. This girl doesn't have a brain. Of course, healthy food is good for you." The truth is we all know that there are benefits to eating more "healthy food", but we aren't always aware of the medicinal benefits that some plants, which on their own don't seem edible, can have.

A good example (check this link out) of something you wouldn't expect to have any health benefits is yarrow, looks like any normal wildflower, but it can be used to be a fever reducer and also lower blood pressure. Who knew flowers that, to me, at least, look like weeds would be beneficial in such a way. There are plenty of people researching all the benefits of yarrow, along with plenty other plants, and there are tons of ways to utilize these plants besides just consuming them.

It's good to practice caution when learning new things to implement into your life, especially if you plan to consume these herbs. Just like we are skeptical, or rather nervous, of inviting people we've never met before into our home, we should feel that same way when practicing new ways to heal. The body can withstand a lot, but we don't want an allergic reaction, or any other types of negative reactions, to occur. So when practicing herbal remedies I suggest taking a look at this link HERE before doing anything to your, or someone else's, body.

With governments being an unreliable authority figure to monitor medicines properly(watch this video here for some background on compounding pharmacies), especially for the United States, I think we need to consider practicing natural homemade remedies that we can regulate ourselves. This could keep us, along with family members, from having to visit the doctors as much and that keeps the bills low. To start, you just need to research the best things to invite into your life, and there are tons of factors that should be taken into consideration when changing the backyard into a pharmacy.

Environment is such a huge part of the process. Weather in your area could make it very difficult to produce certain plants, but some plants do rather well in the cold. The same goes for hot weather too. So this is a huge adventure for you and everyone in the house. It isn't to be taken lightly. That's why research should be your first step, and don't hesitate to search for several resources on one topic.
